Thanks for your question. No. The 5634-WS uses side-wire terminal screws for wiring connections and does not include push-in (backstab) wire terminals.
The 5634-WS provides two independent switches in a single-gang device. To control a ceiling fan and its light separately, the fan must be wired with separate fan and light conductors between the switch box and the fan. One switch can then control the fan and the other can control the light. If your ceiling fan and light are currently controlled together by a single switched conductor, this device alone cannot separate the fan and light functions. In that case, you may need additional wiring or a fan control system designed for that application.
Intermittent blinking is typically not caused by the 5634-WS switch itself. More common causes include a loose wiring connection, an issue with the light fixture, a failing LED lamp or driver, or a poor connection elsewhere in the circuit. The 5634-WS is a standard mechanical switch with side-wire terminals and does not contain electronics that would normally cause lights to blink during operation. We recommend: Checking that all terminal screws are properly tightened. Confirming the bulbs are functioning properly by trying known-good replacements. Inspecting wire connections in the switch box and fixture box for loose conductors. If the lights are LED fixtures, checking for a failing driver or compatibility issue within the fixture. (General troubleshooting suggestion.) If you can tell us whether the blinking occurs on both switches, what type of lights are connected (LED, fluorescent, incandescent), and whether it happens when the lights are on or off, we can help narrow down the cause.
