Part of the FastTrack system, the Hose Hook is great for organizing hoses or extension cords. Its soft grip coating protects it from nicks and scratches. It is easy to attach and adjust on the rail so you can make a customized garage storage system that can change as your storing needs change.

You don’t need any if you have the track system on the wall it just clips in. If you don’t have the track up on the wall you need to buy that also. That will come with hardware.
I would not use it to mount the kayak, at least not the way I'm imagining the way you plan to (horizontally, with one hook holding up each end). The hook only sticks out about 8-10" from the wall. However, I would think you could turn the kayak vertically with the cockpit and hatches facing the wall. Then use a hatch hole (or the cockpit) to hang onto the hook. I don't recall how much weight the hose hook can withstand, but if you install the rail properly, you'll have a better chance. We installed an entire system in our garage last summer, following installation instructions carefully, and were able to mount bikes and other heavy equipment with no trouble. Good luck!
Well, I figured out how to hang the kayak. Use the Garage hose hook and put the kayak facing the wall.
I do not have a kayak (yet) but I do have the hooks (holding other items), and I am thinking they may be a little small to hold a kayak? (plus they have a maximum weight capacity which I forget what it is). I suggest you just buy 2 hooks and take them home to see if they work, and if not, Home Depot has a decent return policy (as long as you do not damage the hooks).
This is 9.3" from the wall.
Thanks for your interest in out products! The Hose Hook is 9.3" from the wall to the furthest front edge on the hook. It should not be used to hang a Kayak.
No you can't
Yes it can, very cool system
I mounted it to a concrete wall using 1/4" Tapcons. It is very sturdy and is holding well. If mounting to drywall use screw in wall anchors not the tapered expanding kind or mount in the stud. It should hold just fine.
Hi Holder, I reached out Rubbermaid to get a correct answer for you. Rubbermaid stated to fasten to a stud using a 10 X 2 inch drywall screw. If you're mounting to drywall and can't locate a stud, use a 3/16 inch toggle bolt.
The Rubbermaid FastTrack Hose Hook can be mounted directly to the wall stud. You need to locate the stud. Level the hose hook and mark mounting holes. Pre-drill 1/8" holes. Secure the hose hook to the stud with 2 #8 2" Phillips flathead screws. Do no over tighten.
