The shop vac filter bag fits most 12 - 16 gallon RIDGID wet dry vacs and helps clean up small, dry debris such as drywall dust. The addition of the dust bag allows for a no-mess drum while cleaning. Simply remove the dust collection bag from the shop vacuum and toss for a quick cleanup - no drum lifting needed. These high-efficiency filter bags can help wet dry vacuum performance and provide a cleaner operation because it minimizes debris clogs in the filter to increase the shop vac filter life. When you pair dust bags with a RIDGID wet dry vac filter (sold separately), you can help optimize your shop vacuum performance for an efficient project cleanup experience. Are detailed instructions for mounting the bags available?
Hello Dave, Thank you for your inquiry. Detailed installation instructions are typically printed on the filter bag itself. However, to assist you further, we recommend following the instructions below to properly install the VF3502 filter bag. 1. Push the cardboard cap into the bag before trying to install onto the inlet. This will punch a hole in the paper and make inserting the bag over the inlet easier. 2. If necessary, insert the rubber gasket over one side of the split inlet and then the other. This will make getting the inlet into the bag a little easier. 3. Push the cardboard collar all the way forward against the drum, making sure the rubber gasket moves over the single rib that is present on the inlet port. Do you need to use the main filter with these bags?

The dust bag should be used in conjunction with the cartridge filter. This setup provides added protection for your vacuum in the event that the dust bag tears during operation, as the cartridge filter will help prevent debris from entering the vacuum's internal components. Additionally, using dust bags helps keep the cartridge filter cleaner, reducing maintenance and extending its service life. Please be advised that the VF3502 filter bag is not compatible with this model, as it is designed for newer RIDGID wet/dry vacuums that feature a hose connection (inlet port) located on the drum of the vacuum. Since the WD1630 has the hose connection located on its lid, the VF3502 filter bag will not fit or function properly with this unit.
