Thank you for your question. 1/4 inch is 0.250. 0.125 equals 1/8. An easy way to convert is divide 1 by 8 to get the decimal equivalent of 0.125. Thank you.
The splinne size is determined by the size of the groove in the particular frame being used. Measure the width of the channel and match that dimension with the spline size.
Depends on the screen material. Solar screen material is thicker than typical window screen material. Suggestions and specs may be listed with the screen material. Frame kits sometimes come with spline (but doesn't necessarily mean it's the proper size you'll need for the screen material you're using).
0.125 is the diameter of the spline...that's the same as 1/8 inch. So yes, the higher the number the bigger the diameter of the spline.
They didn't have in stock when I bought Only one bag 0.125X25ft. The 100ft. I bought it online. I don't remember if they have longer or not.
Not that I am aware ... I just purchased 2 100' rolls on Home Depot website as the 25' rolls available at store cover less than 2 of my average window screens.
Yes they sell it in 250 feet
I saw different sizes but check the Home Depot website to be sure. Occasionally what you want is not a stock item, but HD will deliver it to your local store.
I'm not sure. Consider calling Home Depot online support maybe they can check with the vendor directly and create a customized order.
Best case is to bring in your old product and compare with those at store. But since this isn't possible, trial and error might work. Ask for a sample of various sizes to take home an see which one fits best.
If you have a caliper, you can measure the groove and subtract some for the thickness of the screen. The spline is pretty firm and almost does not shrink when you push it into the groove. Otherwise, try different sizes; HD helpfully accepts returns.
measure the groove the spline goes in. You will need the same thickness or slightly less (like 1/32 or 2 less).
Measure the perimeter. 2 X length + width gives the answer for one screen.
Been there, done that. I recommend that you buy a couple different sizes as it's sort of hard to measure properly, at least to me it is. Then when you get home just put a tiny hole in the package & thread out the spline to see which one is the right size if you can't tell while it's in the package. Do NOT cut the spline until you know what size you need. You can return the size that's wrong as long as you didn't cut any off or get rid of the packaging. Home Depot is really great about that sort of thing. Which is why I do try to not damage the packaging too much, it's easier for everyone all around.
