      Answer This Question

Instructions for use are: Cut away loose drywall/plaster. Clean, sand and smooth the area to be patched. Remove the backing of the self-adhesive patch and apply to the area. Apply a thin coat of joint compound over the patch and surrounding area. Let dry and sand smooth. Repeat as necessary to achieve the desired finish.

Does this come with the dry wall applicant or would I need to buy the paint or putty separately or does it come all together

          Answer This Question

This product is only the mesh repair patch. All other items to complete this project would need to be purchased separately.

Use the corner bead and drywall mud, this patch is not intended for corners. Mike

It really does not . I would suggest cut in half and apply from two sides and use mud tape behind it at the corner

                    Answer This Question

An 8"x8" patch is quite large for the area in question, A 4"x4" should be sufficient for a 2"x3" opening.

This worked well, the tapered design makes it easy to smooth out the putty making it look like the hole was never there after adding paint. I used it to patch a couple of holes left by a broken towel rack and where drywall anchors were pulled out of a small hand towel rack.

Recently relocated a wall outlet and used this patch as a quick way to fill the remaining hole in the wall. This worked perfectly. Patch comes in a couple sizes I opted for the smaller 4 inch patch. Instructions were included and were simple. Just affixed the patch to the wall and cover with joint compound. When the initial coat dries add a wider second coat to feather out the repair for a seamless and unnoticeable finish. Then your ready for finishing sanding, priming and paint. The mesh tape had plenty of adhesion and the metal backing provides adequate support for a strong finish. Great product and makes fixing small holes a snap.

If you need to patch a small hole in drywall, use this! They have bigger ones, too. Has simple instructions and minimal and recyclable packaging, which I appreciate.

I had 3 holes to patch from intercom removal...all good size holes. See pic. A bigger hole would require a proper repair with braced wallboard and tape. These patches were easy to use, although place carefully the first time. I tried to adjust one and didnt get as close a stick as the first time. After that, the quality of your patch will be up to your skill and patience with applying joint compound, sanding, priming and painting. Each step took me a couple coats to get it to my standard. I'm pretty good at smaller wallboard repairs. I didnt get quite as good a result with these patches but that is due at least to having 3 to do and getting tired of the patch and sand step.

I had a hole in the wall that I needed to patch. I thought this would be a good solution. I sanded around the hole and applied this but when I went to apply the wall spackle, I wasn’t happy with how far this was sticking out in the plane of the wall. The metal seemed too thick for what I was trying to do. I ended up not using this and just filling the hole with spackle. I am not sure if I would consider this in the future (probably not).

The aluminum part of the patch stays visible after sanding. We used 2 of them. The others are being returned to the store. I would not recommend this type of patch for a repair in an area that can not be hidden.

The size was right, but I expected it to be a solid piece rather than metal screening similar to light gauge hardware cloth. The adhesive seems strong enough
