Does this valve fit Moen Banbury 84947 widespread, two-handle bath faucet? Thanks.

There are different versions of the Banbury faucet that used the 1224; you can unscrew the handle hub to determine if the stem extensions are splined all the way around (1224) or have segmented splines (1234). Can 1224 be used for hot or cold faucet?
the 1224 has a tab so it only goes one direction in the faucet it will fit both hot and cold side but only works in the hot side if you want to put the handle back on
