Broan introduces the E64000 range hoods, in 10" under-cabinet and 18" wall-mount versions. These new models come with integrated internal blowers or dedicated external blower capability. Styling is fresh and modern, yet designed to easily complement popular pro-style cooking products. Both embody professional features such as powerful blowers, baffle filters, brilliant halogen lighting and 4-speed rotary switch control. And while you won't see this feature it is hard to miss the quiet operation-two sones or less at normal speed. To carry the professional theme even further, select the optional stainless steel backsplash with adjustable shelving. Can a custom wood frame be built around this?

How long can the ducting be?
Hi Justin, Thank you for your question on the model E6448TSS. For maximum performance keep the duct straight and short. Use the shortest route with the fewest turns possible. 45° turns are better than 90° turns. Be sure to use an external roof or wall cap. If in doubt, consult a qualified designer/installer knowledgeable in ventilation or contact the Technical Support Group at 800-637-1453.
What is the make-up air kit part number?

Is the Broan plug kit compatible with this range?
Hi psd123, Thank you for your question on the E6430SS range hood. The HCK44 is not compatible with this range hood. This range hood is designed to be hard-wired.
What is the exact width of the 30" unit? Is it exactly 30", 29 7/8", or 29 3/4"?
Range hood lengths are given to define the space they fit. A 30" range hood is designed to fit a standard 30" space. Hoods typically measure 29-7/8", but there can be some slight tolerances.

What size is duct work?
The E6442SS requires additional peices and possibly some accessories depending on your project. The duct opening is 18-1/2" x 4-1/2". This unit comes with the duct adapter. If you go back to the Home Deopt page and scroll down to "Info & Guides", a specificaton sheet shows the many options. An installation instruction sheet will also give you more detail. Customer review from broan-nutone.comThank you for your feedback on the E6448TSS range hood. We are very sorry to learn of your frustrations while installing the range hood. This range hood does offer the ducting option of either out the back of the hood or out the top. The knock out will need to be removed when you have chosen your ducting orientation. This is where the duct work will attach to the range hood. The duct work is not included with the purchase of the hood, so it does need to be purchased locally. We do recommend rigid metal duct work for use with a range hood.
The E64 series is designed as an under-the-cabinet mount range hood and to be hard-wired. If you are not comfortable or experienced with wiring, we would recommend hiring a qualified electrician. A wall cap or roof cap would also be needed to complete the installation.
