It could be as simply as a jammed nail or nail fragment in the drive blade area, or there could be a need to replace/repair some internal components in the finish nailer. If the problem is still occurring, please call us at (888) 669-5672 so we can learn more.
Yes, this nailer is compatible with 16-gauge straight finish nails ranging from 1 inch to 2-1/2 inches in length.
Yes, this nailer is designed to work with standard 16-gauge straight finish nails, typically ranging from 1 inch to 2-1/2 inches in length.
16ga Finish nails should be fine for that application.
In my opinion, using the mechanical adjustment is the best option since it is based on a positive, mechanical stop. Even with a pressure regulator, you run the risk of having lower than the regulated pressure if you "over-run" the supply capacity of your air compressor and you might not get the depth of nail set you intended on all shots.
Ideally, you would use the tool free depth control dial. Your air pressure can vary depending on the density of the wood you are shooting into. Once you get that set so the nail penetrates the wood with no problem, likely between 85 and 100psi, you can then adjust from their with the depth control.
No, this does not include a carrying case.
This nailer does not come with a storage case. Freeman will have storage bags available for sale later this year.
No.
Doesn't need to be huge. I recommend the $99.00 Ridgid compressor. Nice tool with a fantastic warranty.
Any compressor will work for this nailer that will put out at least 75psi, which is most all compressors. Regarding the tank size, the larger you get, the less it will run to keep the tank pressurized. Typically 3gallon up to 6gallon would be a common size compressor for a homeowner that would handle most common needs.
It depends on where and how you intend to use the nail gun. If you need to transport and use the nail gun in different locations, you'll probably want to get a small pancake compressor that is portable. If you are using it in the same place, like a workshop, you may want a larger compressor that can be used for other tasks. I have both, but always use the portable pancake compressor since it cycles on at 70psi and off at 100psi, the pressure range required for the nail gun. My large shop compressor runs up to 135psi which exceeds the rating for the gun, and I haven't seen fit to spend money on a pressure regulator.
