This nailer will drive 18 gauge brad nails from 5/8" - 2" in length. You can adjust the PSI on your compressor starting at 60 psi and working up to 100 psi until the nail sets where you would like. The depth will depend on the hardness of the material that you are working with.
Whenever I have troubles not sinking a nail/brad its usually because I did not firmly hold the nailer against the material. Especially if I'm holding it away from my body I find that there is quite a kick that I have to hold against. This is the only suggestion I have.
