About This Product
Gold Bond XP Gypsum Board was designed to provide extra protection against mold and mildew compared to standard drywall products. The face paper is folded around the long edges to reinforce and protect the core, and the ends are square-cut and finished smooth. Long edges of the panels are tapered. With PURPLE paper on the face side and heavy, mold- and moisture-resistant, 100% recycled gray paper on the back side, you can count on XP Gypsum Board to help protect your projects from mold.

Can it be used on shower wall with aquadefence waterproofing ?
That product is not an approved tile backer board. eXP TileBacker or PermaBASE cement boards are approved tile backer boards. Either can be installed on tub/shower surround walls.
Why is there so many air bubbles in the purple Sheetrock? I am a contractor, this concerns me due to moisture being able to get into the center of the Sheetrock, which I’ve had problems with this Sheetrock in the past with mold in bathrooms?

What type of screws and glue should I use to attach to studs
Type S drywall screws into metal studs. Type W drywall screws for wood studs. You can use glue in addition to the fasteners, but not by itself.
can i use blue board on lower part of wall and regular drywall on upper wall in a basement
Kal-Kore Plaster Base Board is our "blue board." If you are just plastering the bottom half of the wall, yes. Note: You identified Purple XP board which signifies a mold and mildew board, not a plaster-based board.
