Humidifier Replacement Wick Compatible with AIRCARE 836000HB, 831000 & EP9 Series Humidifiers

Just purchased (2) these as temperatures dropped and they already molded after 10 days. I even use the bacteriastatic product from essic air. I didnt have this problem last year. I reviewed the warranty and it says no warranty on filters. Buyer beware. I hope home depot or aircare reaches out to replace or im done with their system.

If you buy the humidifier you must have this replacement wick about once a year. They may seem expensive, but they fit perfectly, work well, and are easy to buy from Home Depot online. Using these humidifiers, we have avoided the usual fall/winter sinus infections and the antibiotics plus doctor visits. All of a sudden they seem like a very cost effective investment. They also prevent the woodwork from drying out and shrinking over the winter.

THIS PRODUCT REALLY WORKS VERY WELL KEEPING OUR AIR IN THE HOUSE VERY FRESH AND MOIST . IT ALSO KEEPS DOWN STATIC. WE HAVE USED IT OVER FIVE YEARS NOW WITH NO PROBLEMS.

This is a simple design for a large humidifier that works, but is a little lightly built and can be difficult to use. It is an effective large space humidifier. The fan is loud at high settings, but it is moving a lot of air. I use one for my electrically heated office at work and one for my hydronic heated home - neither of which have a central ventilation system suitable for a plenum mounted humidifier. * there is no exterior fill indicator. There is a black level sticker on the interior, and a raised indicator ridge on the wick's black frame. When filling you need to peer down the vent, ideally with a light to see the level. This is awkward. Overfilling will result in a stream of water pouring out a weep hole in the back. This is a large capacity tank, so it can take a while to fill. * The construction is quite light so if you do overfill the tank can deform with the weight of water, dislodging the wick / filter and possibly the top. * The fit of the top is finicky, and it can be difficult to line it up with the float, and properly fit in the sides of the tank. If not lined up properly the float wont trigger the fan. * some people have complained here about cleaning and filter/wick replacement. This is a reality of all evaporative humidifiers. They all require regular cleaning and the wicks will eventually get clogged with mineral scale and need to be descaled or replaced. Paper wicks like this have good performance but are not easily descaled because of their fragility.
