Shouldn't the description say hook and loop instead of hook and lock??
ByFeb 13, 2025
1 Answer |
Answer This Question

Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. The product description should indeed say "hook and loop" instead of "hook and lock." "Hook and loop" is the generic term for the fastening system commonly known by the brand name Velcro. This system uses tiny hooks on one surface that interlock with loops on the other surface, creating a strong but easily reversible bond. "Hook and lock" is likely a misnomer or a less common way to refer to this type of fastening We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future.

What grit would be best to strip paint off a wallpapered wall? The wallpaper was removed by was painted over the wallpaper glue.
    ByJul 14, 2024
    1 Answer |
    Answer This Question

For stripping paint off a wall where wallpaper was removed, and the glue was painted over, you'll want to start with a coarser grit sandpaper, like 60 or 80 grit. This will help to quickly remove the layers of paint and any residual wallpaper glue. After the initial stripping, you can then move to a finer grit, such as 120 or 150, to smooth the surface and prepare it for repainting or wallpapering. Remember to test a small area first to ensure you're not damaging the underlying wall material.

    Falls apart
I’m sanding lap joints, and the sandpaper begins to fall apart as soon as I start using it on the orbital sander. Your competitors sandpaper does not.

I use these on uneven surfaces, and they hold up well, providing an even sanding job. This ensures a great finished product.

I like all Diablo products and the sandpaper is no different. I do notice that if the wood is really rough it’s best to start with 60 grit and work your way up

Most Diablo products are of good quality and their sandpaper is no different whenever the bulk pack is available I get it. It lasts long and smoothes out all the rough spots on any board.

        Disappointing for the Diablo brand
I’ve had excellent success with Diablo saw blades, 6” to 12” and every router bit has performed as expected or better. Now for my first Diablo disappointment. I’ve used Norton ProSand 5” & 6” hook and loop sanding discs for several years with great satisfaction. When I went to my local supplier to restock, I found they had discontinued handling them. Thought this would be a good time to try Diablos 5” ceramic blend discs. Had a Norton 80 grit disc in my sander, used that for a bit then decided to switch to a new Diablo 80 grit. Worked well for about 10 minutes, it drastically slowed removing material, checked it and the disc was coming apart, literally. Thought maybe it was a fluke, bad disc, put on another, same thing. Decided to finish with the Norton, the previously used Norton disc did as much as 2 new Diablos and didn’t disintegrate. Diablos granules quickly fell off, the backer tore and the disc became unusable. Extremely disappointed given Diablo has been so reliable with so many other products. Please see my attached pics.

Diablo has just entered another home category
I had bought the 50 pack 120 grit because I do woodwork which requires a lot of sanding & you could not beat the price. In the pack there was these washable reusable sanding pads skeptical to use it on the mahogany I just set them aside. Well today after a few hours of scraping adhesive off of concrete I wondered how those Diablo sanding pads would do with my sander, they were phenomenal!!! No chemicals, presoaking the floor w/ vinegar & dawn
