Right now I don't remember but on the packaging that the polisher comes it says which pad replacements it uses or go to the DeWalt website and search for the model of the polisher and it will show the model and number that the polisher uses.
The part number for the polishing pad is N092491.
The wool pad I used was a 7” Makita hook and Loop wool. #192629-7
Operations such as grinding, sanding, wire brushing or cutting-off are not recommended to be performed with this power tool.
Yes, it does come with the backing plate
Yes, it has a hook and loop backing pad that is included. This allows you to easily fasten wool or foam pads.
Yes a backing plate is included.
Frankly, I prefer an 8" pad. Depends on the application you are using it for. I use the 8" or 9" for the hull of my boat,. And a 7" or 8" for the deck, depending on how tight of a spot I am working with, and how hard I need to work it. This is a GREAT product. I have attached a pic I took four days ago of my 2000 310 that was previously in saltwater. This polisher keeps it alive!
Hello Larry, We appreciate your question. The model DWP849X is made in China.
Hi Larry, The unit DWP849X is made in China. We appreciate your question.
WIre gauge is based on length and draw. This product draws 12 amps. So any 14-gauge cord between 0 and 50 feet long will adequately handle this tool (between 10 and 15 amps). If the length of the cord you are going to use is between 50 to 100 feet, you need a 12-gauge cord to safely power this tool (between 10 and 15 amps). It is always best to use the shortest cord possible.
I used a standard extension cord for it although if you use it near water you will need something with a protection breaker.
We have not tested the DEWALT DWP849X with the shurhold brush.
