Do they carry this in stock at the Beechmont store? If so, which aisle would it be in?
Is the bottom part of the rail clamp suppose to "snap" onto the rail, causing a focal warp of the black plastic cover?
No, it doesn't warp it at all. Once you snap it on, it's on. Its possible you need ankers between your studs. The only thing I can think of, is either the plastic or the rail is upside down. I did that on my second rail, the plastic went on wrong, it buckled until I turned it over. I've got 4 rails now and tons of weight on them. Its perfect. Good luck
Thank you for your interest in our products! The Rubbermaid FastTrack Garage Compact Hook should not cause the Rail cover to warp. The Hook should snap easily over the rail unless the rail is not installed correctly, causing the cover to buckle or warp.
Occasionally, the hook comes off the rail. There is a visible hole for a screw. Can I drill a hole in the rail and drive a screw through the hook so it doesn't move or come out?

Absolutely, why not. Drill a pilot hole, only thing is, you may need an anchor behind it to hold the screw.
Does this type of hanger work on the Rubbermaid Slatwall system as well?
It only works on the flat track system.
I don't believe that would work. These hooks are specifically designed to snap top and bottom exactly 3.5 inches apart. (Or there about) It would need a lip to hook onto, top and bottom
I didn't use it that way but yes it will work on it as well.
