I am not sure. They are made of a shiny plastic...not sure if the paint would stay on well...maybe spray paint would work???

I am using it to store other things, not cushions. But depending on the size of the cushion, I would say sixto eight cushions.

Yes - we’ve had ours sitting outside on our deck for years and never had water seep in.

Yes, mostly. I have a couple of these out by our pool, and they work quite well. I do use a twist tie in the winter through the lock hole so that they don't blow open in winter winds and damage the hinge.

Your measurements do not make sense. What is the difference between height and depth? Ususl measurements are Length, Width and Height.
I don't know the answer. From what I can tell the depth is about the same as the height. Maybe a little less because you need to close the lid. It's sturdy and has plenty of room I use this for my pool equipment, hoses, chemicals ect..
may I lock that item with a paddle lock or key?
No there is no spot or hole that you would be able to lock the deck box.
