How much does this Buyers Product steel 49x16x16 trailer tongue toolbox weight? Is it 15ga. steel?? Painted or Powder-Coated??
This trailer tongue truck tool box weighs 74 lbs. It has a 14-gauge steel body and a 12-gauge steel lid. It has a gloss black finish.
The picture dimensions show 49w18.5h15w(along the angled side)--While the description says 16x16x49 what are the correct sizes? Especially interested in the exterior width? front to back NOT along the angled sides.
Could you cut out a circle in the inner liner of the lid for an 18” ht 20 lb propane bottle ?
We would not recommend the Buyers Products 18 in. x 19 in. x 36 in. Matte Black Plastic Trail Tongue Tool Box as storage for a propane tank or any type of flammable unit. Yes, a hole could be cut into the inner liner, however this would harm the integrity of the box and be void to any warranty claims.
How does it mount?
Buyers Products Matte Black Plastic Trailer Tongue Truck can be installed by drilling the toolbox in at least 4 locations in the box, holes should be minimum 3/8". Use steel or stainless hardware to secure the toolbox to the desired location, ensuring the structure is solid and will bear the weight of the box plus contents. Use bolts, nylon lock nuts, and fender washers to secure to box. The fender washers should be placed inside of the box to help secure.
Will the top begin to sag after prolonged exposure to hot temps / sun?

No: This unit is 18.5 inches. You'll need at least 21 inches interior to fit the 19 inch high propane tank plus the tank-mounting mechanism.
