That’s what we did for a similar length window. Did not create any visual issues, as these are compressed.
What size do I need to order for outside mount if I want the overall width including mounting brackets to be 52 inches wide

For Outside Mount Installations (Outside the window frame) – Recommended to add 4 inches to the width (2” on both sides) and length for optimal light control and privacy
my window measures inside mount 73" in length...will the 72" go to the bottom, ie does the headrail provide at least an extra inch?
