Hi Jackie, thank you for your question. Yes, our e600 Exterior Paint can be applied on primed metal fences. We recommend using our Multi-Surface Primer (No. 436). Have a great day! -Adelina
Hi Rich, thank you for your question. As it turns out, our e600 paint does not include a primer and we advise priming surfaces before painting to ensure proper adhesion and performance. Have a great day! -Adelina
Hi Bear, thank you for all of the great questions. Primers promote coverage and adhesion, while the paint will be what provides durability. In general, paint covers in around 1-2 coats, but porous surfaces and drastic color changes may need extra coats for uniformity. Using a separate primer helps reduce the number of coats of paint needed. Alternatively, you can use a paint and primer in one, which allows the first coat to act as a primer and can be recoated if needed for uniformity. Feel free to reach out to us directly if you have any other questions or need help choosing the right paint for your project, we're here for you! -Adelina
Hi Bear, thank you for your questions. Before applying our Behr Pro e600 Exterior Satin Paint No. PR643, I recommend priming your surface with our Behr Multi-Surface Stain-Blocking Primer & Sealer No. 436. Have a great day! -Angie
Hi Container, thanks for reaching out with your question. As it turns out, we don’t recommend thinning our Behr Pro e600 Exterior Paint. Instead, we recommend using it at its packaged consistency. If thinned, it can affect the product's performance and overall longevity. When applying it with an airless sprayer you may use a .015-.021 tip and a 60 mesh filter with a fluid pressure of 1,500-2,200 psi. Good luck with your project! -Angie

Hi Liz, thanks for your question. We don't recommend using our Pro e600 Paint on horse fencing, as it's not designed to be non-toxic to livestock. Instead, you can check out our Barn & Fence Paint for your fence project. Have a great day! -Christina
