The MILWAUKEE 15 piece Cobalt RED HELIX Drill Bit Kit is engineered for extreme durability and long life in hard metal applications. The drill bits are designed with Variable Helix featuring an aggressive 35 degree Helix Angle ending at 15 degree . This allows for Rapid Chip Removal, limiting heat buildup to stay sharper longer. The 135 degree split point bit tip delivers a precision start and prevents walking for fast, accurate holes. The heavy duty drill bits are ideal for tough applications and provide Up to 10X life vs Black Oxide drill bits. The bit in the kit can be used in all twist drilling applications.

Our 48-89-2370 is a new case designed to be fit into PACKOUT™ . - Milwaukee Tool, Social Team
Dennis, you are able to purchase individual RED HELIX™ Cobalt Drill Bits.
With a pliers the worst case I have ever used. Makes the bits almost unusable.
Generally, the greater % of cobalt the bit has, the more brittle it will be. I've found it helpful to chuck these type of bits up a little looser, which allows them to slip instead of snap if they get jammed up when drilling something.
Hi Marc! This case does not feature PACKOUT compatibility, but model number 48-89-4672 does feature a customizable accessory case designed for use in PACKOUT.
I believe they are M35 which makes them 5%. And the cobalt is throughout the HSS which means they can be sharpened, BUT THEY ARE BRITTLE. Use at 200 to 300 rpm
Cobalt is generally a hard facing material, not an alloy
One with a chuck.
Any drill with a jacob’s drill chuck. If you don’t know what that is, look it up online and compare to what is on your drill.
I will use my bigger 1/2 inch 18 v for the tiniest drill bit. It works if you use some finesse. Other times I use my 12 v for most of my smaller projects. It really depends on what I have close by. Any drill can do nearly anything. It is the person using the tool that really makes the difference.
3/8 inch drill
You can use any drill. 1/2",3/8",etc. With smaller(finer) bits you cannot muscle them. Let the bit do the work.
Five year limited. Details of the warranty can be found in a link to the right at the top of the product details section on the desktop site.
