Why can't heavy duty Mollie Bolts be used for installing these in drywall (they are replacing towel racks)? Not thrilled about putting 1-�" holes in my drywall required for the Moen Secure Mounts!

Grab Bar in Brushed Nickel comes with installation instructions that advise that the screws provided must be mounted into a wood stud for secure installation. After locating the wood studs and deciding on the positioning of the grab bar, the instructions advise to drill 1/8” diameter pilot holes in each screw location. I'm not quite sure about your question, but I assume you're asking about how to install this? We had it installed by our contractor with our bathroom remodel. We had tiled a shower/bath and he installed it vertically at the entry to the tub. We use it all the time for balance in and out of the tub, works great. Our contractor installed it in studs so it is very sturdy and can hold weight, you would not want to install it in just drywall or a tub backing board.

No. Be sure to check where your studs are before you decide on a size. I’ve had to reorder because my two homes had different stud widths. The most practical width was 16 inches.
