Questions & Answers
I am having an issue with this light as it appears to only connect me on when there is motion. I don’t see that in the specs. How can I get this light to stay on when the switch is turned on?
I have the same issue. Can someone chime in?
What is the size of the back plate?
Hello Marilyn, The size of the backplate for the Alturas 4.375 in. Brushed Oil Rubbed Bronze Modern Contemporary Wall Sconce Vanity Light with Satin Etched Glass Shade is as follows, height is 6in., width is 4.38in. and depth is 1in. Thank you for your interest in Generation Lighting!
can this be used with the bulb hanging down, not up
Hello TJar, Yes, the Alturas 4.375 in. Brushed Nickel Modern Contemporary Wall Sconce Vanity Light can be mounted either or up or down. Thank you for your interest in Generation Lighting!
I'm trying to understand the mounting, and didn't see any pictures or real description. Would it mount to a vertical single gang box? FWIW, I'm reasonably handy and experienced.
Hello Bill, Yes, the Alturas wall sconce can mount on a single junction box vertically. Thank you for your interest in Generation Lighting!
We screwed a bulb in after the light was installed fully. The top of the bulb broke off at the bottom of the bulb glass, leaving the rest of the lamp screwed in. We now can't get it unscrewed to replace the bulb and can't unscrew the shade.
Hello Louise, so sorry to hear about your trouble with the bulb! The shade is attached with a collar nut. Use the included shade tool to unscrew the collar nut and remove the shade to have easier access to the base of the bulb in the socket.
What is the projection distance from the wall?
Hello Judy, the Alturas 1-light Sconce extends 6 1/8 inches from the wall. Thank you for your interest in Generation Lighting!
The screw is too long. When I screw in the exterior nut cap, it's not able to screw in all the way in against the plate, so the plate is not secured in place. I think I need two additional nut to fill in the gap. What is the size of the nut?
Hello Jeff, our apologies for the mix-up in screws. You can reach out to customer service to request a replacement parts bag. However, the nut size is 8-32. Thank you for your Generation Lighting purchase!
Product overview says, "safely listed for use in damp location", but in specifications detail it says, "dry rated". Which is correct?
Hello Jill, it is safety listed for damp locations. We will address. Thank you for your interest in Sea Gull Lighting!
It is both ... And will look great in a bathroom.
