The Plug Mark is specifically designed for locating existing outlets in rehab and remodel projects. The Plug Mark will help you accurately locate and cut electrical outlet access holes in drywall, sheet rock, paneling and many other materials with no measuring required. There are just a few easy steps. Insert the target magnet in the outlet, install the drywall, find the target with the locator magnet and mark the perimeter of the outlet. Cut out, remove the target magnet and you're done.

Yes, it will work with Cement/hardie board in Building material mode.
If the outlets are already installed in the boxes, they the PlugMark target markers can be installed in the plug and the locator can be traced once it has located the target(s). If the outlets are not installed in the boxes, the Multimark tool may be the way to go as the target can be mounted on an angle and then the locator can be traced on the four corners for the 4” box outline. A quick video of some of the uses of the BlindMark is shown below: https://youtu.be/ou89xuB9yUQ
We don’t specify what tools to use, but tools that have been used are RotoSaws, Rotozip, drywall saws and razor blades. The advantage of using the rotary saws and razor blades is that the height can be adjusted.
We have not performed any testing in this area, but no electrical current is being conducted through the plastic, so it shouldn’t be an issue. From a safety standpoint, the power should probably be turned off anyhow if you are cutting around an electrical outlet.
If the metal does not attract magnets, like tin, then it should work, depending on the thickness and distance from the outlet target magnets.
Nothing stay as in permanently and no, this is designed for a single outlet.
Yes, since you have two targets, you put one target into each outlet, set your drywall, locate the first target, trace around it and then find your second target, trace around it then RotoZip around your trace lines.
One outlet at a time, but it can be used many times over
You can do two outlets at a time, remove the targets and move to the next two outlets after cutting them out.
Yes and no. depends on thickness.
You place the Plug Mark in the socket and then after putting up the plywood your use the locator, mark the hole and cut it out.
Yes, any non-metal walling material... that strong magnets can 'see' each other through.
It works well on 7/16" plywood, acceptable on 1/2" plywood, you just have to slide it around a little bit to make sure your lined up square and poorly on 3/4" plywood. Plywood is a denser material than drywall so the performance is a little less.
I have not used this tool for plywood, it's made more for drywall because it uses magnets, but you could test it out if you want, Good Luck !!
