Hello, the sink itself weight approx. 77lbs. Best regards, BOCCHI Team
Hello, 1st no, the sink does not chip easily. It is possible to chip it, but it would need to be hit with enough force that you would dent a stainless steel sink, or crack the enamel on a cast iron sink. The fine fireclay we use is cast in a solid wall construction and is very dense to add to the strength and the type of glaze we use prevents spider cracking (aka crazing). It is rated as one of the strongest materials in use for sinks. 2nd, the outside dimensions are 30in x 18in x 10x tall. Best regards, BOCCHI Team
Yes, there is a very slight taper. This would be true of all cast products (fireclay and other ceramics, granite, etc.) since a slight taper is needed to assist in properly removing the sink from the mould. However, it is very slight on this model-- approximately 1/4-1/2 inch. Best regards, BOCCHI Team
It is hard to measure the outside because of the wood surrounding it. But inside, the top is a 1/4” more than bottom from what I can tell. I got my hubby to confirm and he got the same measurements. Hope this helps.
Hello, yes, there is a slight angle towards the drain to create proper drainage. This sink does ship with the bottom grid included which will help create a level base for dishes and allow for better water flow. Best regards, BOCCHI Team
Hello, this sink comes with a basket strainer, but the actual drain parts are sold separately. All sizes, parts, and connections are standard sizes for USA kitchen sinks and do not require extender flanges to be used with garbage disposals-- the standard parts included with the disposal will work with BOCCHI sinks, so extra pieces/parts are not required. Best regards, BOCCHI Team
Hello, This is somewhat flexible. Some of our customers prefer it to sit flush, but you can project it out past the cabinets and counter as you prefer. For more detailed installation instructions or diagrams, please email our team at info@bocchiusa.com -- Best regards, BOCCHI Team
Approximately 2 to 3 inches
Hello, no extender needed. Standard flanges should work just fine. Best regards, BOCCHI Team
A standard flange is NOT deep enough! A farm house clay fired sink is much thicker on the bottom than a "standard" sink . I've returned two strainers, so far. Most strainers will not even tell you (on packaging) if it is compatible with a fire clay sink.
Hello Elliott, at the current moment no, but there is one coming. The current style of grids was designed this way to have some flex to them to help absorb impact from dropped dishes, but as you have noticed there are drawbacks to it as well. We are in the process of creating a newer, improved model that we hope to have available to the market by the start of 2023. Check back soon, BOCCHI Team
