Will this drill cut hss steel

Answer This Question

The KFD series drill will “not” drill into high speed steel. Maybe the only drill that “might” work would be our solid Carbide spade drill bit. A sample size is our ¼ bit model DMO1/4SPADE

Fairly good quality drill bit that is inexpensive. I use them to make holes in steel, aluminum, stainless, and sometimes copper. With proper lube, they will last a while. If you know how to sharpen bits, you can extend their usage significantly.

These Drills came well packed and are very strong. They are made from a very strong High-Speed Steel and come with a slight oil coating on them to keep them protected. The packet carries 12 of the drills, which will last me a very long time. As stated in their packaging, the Killer Force Drills have a heavy-duty 135° split point for self-centering and reducing thrust. This is very helpful when drilling through specific metals.

Very nice, sharp drill bits. Comparing with other bits I have, these seem to be sharper and have more bite, allowing them to cut through hard materials easily (I have found that I do not have to push as hard to get them cut as other drill bits I have). I have used it a number of times and find it to be very good for drilling thru metal and have even used one with stone. The bits have shown no unusual wear and look almost as good as new after use. The self-centering feature is also a plus. I think I may have found my new go-to drill bits. I am looking forward to getting some in other sizes to enlarge my drill bit collection, especially for use with my drill press.

7/32" High Speed Steel Killer Force Drill Bit came in a resealable package with 12 bits. They were all coated in an oil type coating. The bits are very sharp. The bits can be used on wood, stainless steel, and other hard metals. The bits are made from premium grade high-speed steel. It drilled through wood like butter. There was no wood burning, or splintered wood. It drilled through thin metal so quickly I was glad I had a piece of old wood underneath it. It took a little more effort to drill through hard metal. But, it was still quicker than most other brands of bits. My favorite thing was the bit didn't dance around, especially on the round metal post, it drove right through them. The bits have a heavy-duty 135 degree split point for self-centering and reducing thrust. The bit was still sharp after use. I used an 18 volt drill.

These drill bits are of excellent quality for hard metal drilling. The 7/32 in. bit size is the one that I use most often for drilling pilot holes for lots of applications. The pack comes with 12 bits. They are designed for high speed drilling and have a 135 degree split point for self-centering that is a big help on repeat drillings through metal or wood. They are very sharp and durable.

Professional set of drill bits. These bits come in a nice package that can be resealed, ensuring that they do not spill out when not being used. Each bit is coated with a protective coating of some sort, so they are pristine until used. They make nice clean holes, which is what is most important! It is nice having twelve so that if one gets damaged one can simply grab the next one.

I am always losing or breaking bits. So I got this 12 pack of 7/32 High Speed bits just to be prepared. I was very happy at the weight and quality when I first opened the pack. I was even more satisfied when I tried them out! I am organizing all of my garden tools on a peg board in my garage. Some of the tools can be hung as they are, but a few need a hole so I can hang them. The wooden handles were no match for these bits, they neatly drilled right through. When I got to my machete I thought maybe I would have a problem. First I fairly easily drilled through the base of the blade. I wasn't happy with the way the machete hung so I drilled through the handle and tang. It went through pretty quickly. Then I checked the bit by drilling through a 2x4 about 20 times. It was like drilling through butter! What great quality bits!

Good quality, high speed steel, twist drill bits. Multipack of same size bits is good for commercial or home use. These bits deliver a clean cut with very little tear out on either soft or hardwoods. Can be resharpened. Bit remains cool even through dense hardwoods avoiding scorching of lighter hardwoods. Fits any standard 1/4" chuck and includes convenient storage pouch. Good all around drill bits.

The Drill America brand Killer Force drills, in single size multi packs are available in a variety of sizes and lengths. They offer the home user an option more familiar to commercial users, which is the ability to purchase frequently used drill sizes in modest quantity at a reasonable per-unit price, rather than singly or in sets that include sizes they don’t actually need now. These drills are “High Speed Steel”. What this means simply is that they are designed to be more resistant to damage, loss of temper from running too hot and early failure from careless or impatient use than many of the lesser quality steel drills out there for purchase are. I have used these Killer Force Drills in other sizes also, and I find them to be high performance, long lasting, of excellent quality and a very good value. They are 135 degree split points, making them excellent in steel, including Stainless, which is notoriously tough to drill, and wood as well. When drilling steel, even mild steel, use the proper speed, which is the generally slower the better, resting the drill when you notice heat building up, and keep the site lubricated with oil. Properly used and cared for, these drills will perform very well, stay sharp, and last a long time. I recommend them and use them myself.

Amazing. I have a homemade contraption that needed a 9/16 rod for a hinge pin. I had a lug wrench/jack handle from an old vehicle in my stack of stuff that happened to fill the bill. I wanted to drill it for a cotter pin or other fastener. It was extremely hard and none of the drills I have would touch it. So I had been holding it in place with a hose clamp. The Killer Force drills arrived yesterday. I decided to give one a try without much hope. However, much to my surprise, it drilled through the old jack handle. Highly recommended.
