Whats the highest cut setting for this
The highest setting on that model is technically 1-7/8 (1.875) inches - as measured on a flat hard surface, so the actual mowing height will depend on the lawn surface and grass conditions, plus adding a front roller results in slightly lower heights at each setting. The usual recommendations are "Standard" models for a height of cut to be maintained below 1-1/2 (1.5) inches and "High-Cut" models for HOC at 1-1/2 (1.5) inches and above. A grass catcher is included, and the front roller has always been an optional accessory. If it's ordered at the same as a mower for home delivery, we will install it, otherwise it takes about 10-15 minutes and there's an installation video on our website: https://caltrimmer.com - along with our contact email and phone number, plus operating manuals, parts lists, technical information, and other instructional documents.
Does it come with the roller kit?
The front roller kit is an optional accessory that needs to be ordered separately... Mfg. item # FR-20 / HD item # 304781992.
What it the lowest you can cut?
The standard 7-blade model can reach approximately 7/16" using a front roller on completely level, smooth and firm lawn surface conditions.
can I use it to make hay out of my grass?
According to information posted online, hay is typically achieved with grass over 4" tall which is problematic to effectively cut for most all reel mowers including ours - which are best used for maintaining lawns at cutting heights below 2".
How long does it take to mow 1000 sq’ with this? And what happens with the clippings?
When operating the engine at full speed, the top walking pace of the mower is approximately 3 MPH. Of course, there are variables that will affect the mowing time such as using the grass catcher, maneuvering around flower beds, tree cut-outs, walkway paths, etc., but for a 1,000 sq. ft. section – if it’s fairly square or rectangular and if a 1.5” overlap is used in each direction, it would take about 3-4 minutes. As for the clippings, they are thrown forward by blade’s rotation either into the catcher (if they’re longer) or onto to the lawn (if they’re short) depending on your preference.

What’s the weight of this mower? Can I push and drive this (obviously, while it’s off) easily on a gravel walkway? We have bermuda in our backyard; currently, I just carry my rotary mower passing through a gravel walkway.
The mower has two large wheels underneath the frame but it's weight is 144 lbs., so pushing it through your gravel walkway would be challenging. However the self-propel function - which uses a 9" wide rear drive roller - could be used to help make it easier.
