Does this filter increase water pH value
The FXHTC filter is an advanced whole house water filter that filters down to 25 microns, which reduces chlorine taste and odor, sediment, sand, and rust. The pH measures the degree of acidity in the water. This filter is not designed to affect the water’s pH level. We recommend contacting a water treatment specialist in your area for assistance with your water pH level. For more information on the pH scale related to water systems, you can search for the article titled "Water Systems - The pH Scale" on the GE Appliances website and navigating to the “Support" tab.
Is this a g filter replacement
This is a replacement filter for some GE Appliances Whole Home Water Filters. To find if this is compatible with your filtering system, search by the model number of the system at the GE Appliances website.
What should be used to lubricate the o ring?
We recommend you use a clean food grade silicone grease to lubricate the o-ring.
Does a new o-ring come with the filter?
No, the O-ring does not come with this filter. HHRING is the replacement O-ring. When replacing the filter, please inspect the filter housing's O-ring to ensure that it is lubricated after removing the used filter and replace it if needed. What are the temperature limitations?
The feed water temperature for this filter is 40-100 F.
I clicked on the photos of the filter to see any more details I might be missing , You have a video showing methylene blue being removed from water using your refrigerator filters!? I think it’s time humans start doing more and we use a little less AI….
The video on the product page for FXHTC contains general information on the performance of our filters. While a refrigerator filter is included the video, the information on performance also applies to whole house filtration filter FXHTC.
My city sent me a notification that they received a violation. The contaminants level TTHM trihalomethanes exceeded federal limits. Hope the carbon filter gets rid of this?
Our whole home filters are not rated for reduction of TTHMs. Please consider high efficiency Point-Of-Use or refrigeration filters that may be rated for reducing these types of chemicals. Jill@GEAppliances
