I was looking forward to getting this quilt. The color was great, it was nice and big. It arrived not smelling too great so I washed it according to instructions. Even after washing, it was like sleeping with flexible cardboard. You'll need a VERY soft top sheet if you want to use this quilt. Maybe it would soften if it is washed numerous times. I am not willing to have to do that for over $100 per twin quilt.

I have had these spreads for 20 years - different company back then, and the only thing I miss is that there is not a soft pink or aqua color. I have a bed more on the high side so the spread fits nicely. It is durable and the cats approve. Hope they improve their color selection. The spread is the right weight all year long ..in winter I might add a light blanket under it. Be sure to measure your bed. I do not nor have I ever had any significant shrinkage with Matelasse spreads.

I purchased the King size coverlet and shams for my King bed. I had read the reviews about shrinkage was was not surprised when out of the package it was huge. So I washed it. and it did shrink considerably but now it is almost too short in the pillow to end of bed dimension. I have to pull it down about 10 -12 '' from the top to have it cover the mattress on the end. Meanwhile the sides are almost too long. The material is very nice and I like the weight, I think it will be durable but for the price I am not happy. I was thinking this would be my ""forever"" coverlet . I have purchased Company store Matelasse previously for twin beds and it has held up beautifully.

I ordered the King bedspread. Way, way too big for what I wanted. It touched the floor on both sides and at bottom of bed. Since the bed has a finished wooden frame, I didn't want it covered. So I washed the spread hoping it would shrink. Not enough! I've now ordered the king coverlet which will fit inside the finished frame. Very expensive lesson. A King matellaise in this collection is much bigger than a King bed set you would buy in a department store. Measure!!

This is by far the most DURABLE bedspread I have ever owned. I have three dogs and a cat, so this thing has had everything on it that you can imagine....I have washed mine at least 25 times in a year ( yes about once a week) and it still looks great. All of the stitching has held, no snags, no stains. My king size fits in my top loading washer. It takes a couple of cycles to dry, but comes out looking great. I also have the shams and they have held up just as well.

We bought a matelasse coverlet from The Company Store years ago and it's been our favorite thing ever since. We live in FL, and it's the perfect weight for sleeping in the summer (and of course it looks beautiful!). In the colder months we have a duvet on top of it for a little more warmth. After DAILY use for 14-15 years, our coverlet and shams were getting threadbare -- holes were starting to show. We were super sad, and assumed whatever we bought to replace it wouldn't be the same. I'm thrilled to say the one we treated ourselves to for Christmas is just as great as our old one. EXCELLENT quality and always gorgeous. We had the ivory before and the ivory all these years later is exactly the same (yay!). I will continue buying these for life!

This is the second coverlet that I have purchased. I like it because it is a nice looking coverlet that I can add different colored pillows to it to change up its looks in different seasons. It is a valuable additional layer at night without being too heavy. It washes up nice and keeps its color.
