Why is it about at eighty percent speed it viberates alot but all other speeds very little?
ByDec 12, 2021
1 Answer |
Answer This Question

Harmonics. Many tools w/ oscillating and/or rotating components have their own resonant frequencies, particularly if parts are sprung. When RPM or frequency of oscillation matches that of the machine's structure, resonance occurs and vibration increases.

What is the distance from the blade to the front edge of the table?
    ByDec 10, 2021

    Answer This Question

The upper and lower rocker mounts has slack from left to right with the Front rocker’s . Is that normal and is that why my tight blade wonders ?
    ByDec 8, 2021
    1 Answer |
    Answer This Question

A tight blade wandering could be caused by slack in the upper and lower rocker mounts. However, some play in these mounts can be normal due to the necessary movement for the scrolling action. If the blade is excessively wandering even when tight, it may indicate an issue beyond normal play. Consulting the user manual or contacting Jet customer service might be helpful for troubleshooting and determining if the level of slack you're experiencing requires adjustment or repair.

    I would not buy it....
I just got this today and was going to try it out and wanted to make internal cut and the bottom of the blade would not stay in the bottom assembly at all...when you released the top tension and raised the arm to put the blade in the hole you drilled for the internal cut..the blade would fall out of the holder on the bottom ..now I'm no expert but with this nonsense..I will never be.....I took it back...

I have had this Jet 18" scroll saw for a little over a week now. I am an experienced scroll saw user with over 30 plus years of scrolling. I have an RBI Hawk (29 years old) and a Seyco Excalibur (12 years old). This is my 3rd scroll saw. This is excellent saw. Can't say enough nice things about it. Dust collection was a must for me. This saw fills that bill. So far I would say with my rag-tag dust collection hook-up with my Craftsman 4 gal shop vac it collects about 90% of the sawdust. With a better hook-up and a more powerful shop vac I'm sure it would be even better. But for now, I'm quite satisfied. Ease of blade changes is very nice feature also. Right now I have it is on a home made table and it does vibrate a bit more than I like. But I believe once I get it securely locked in place the vibration will disappear. All in all I really like this saw a lot. Of course. Time will tell about the reliability. If it's like my other Jet tools, table saw and band saw, I will have nothing to worry about. I recommend this saw highly. Plus Home Depot had it in stock and delivered it very quickly.

Even nicer than I expected. Well made. 2 weeks after receiving it one of my woodworking magazines did a review of scrollsaws rating this one very highly. Glad I made a good choice. Originally I hesitated spending this much but now feel like I got my money’s worth.
