Make the most of your mower with an Agri-Fab spike aerator. Spike aerators use a series of rotating star-shaped tines that slice into the soil. This allows seed, fertilizer, water, air, light and nutrients to reach the grass roots. Aerating should be done when the lawn's moisture content is high. the 40 in. spike aerator provides up to 2.5 in. of aeration depth by adding up to 100 lbs. to the weight tray. When you aerate your lawn, you are opening up the soil surface to let grass roots get the air and moisture they need for healthy growth.

Can the tow behind aerator be used on an incline/decline 15%
When using the unit on a sloped lawn you should always go up and down. Never follow the contour of the ground.You want to make sure when backing up that the knives are out of the ground. You can find the operations of the unit in the manual on page 10. I would suggest looking over the operations before using the unit. Thank you.
The axel won?t fit into plastic parts that go on tines - thoughts ?

When backing up will it still rotate the spikes into my yard . Will it spin in reverse
It is not recommended to back up with the knives in the ground. You risk bending the tongue. The knives should also be out of the ground when turning. Thank you.
It will spin in reverse. The tines are touching the ground and will spin in both directions. This aerator works best when it has a decent amount of weight on it.
Can I buy the smart link plug aerator insert and assemble it into the frame of this spike aerator?

I live in Georgia and my yard is hard clay. Will this work on this hard clay
You’ll need some rain or water it to make the ground softer or put 2 to 3 8x16 construction blocks on it. When the ground is hard it won’t go deep enough.
We recommend that the ground be moist not soaked but if to dry it will not do the job that it should. Thank you.
Yes it is if you water the day before or if it rained in the last couple of days. My worked better with (2) 8x16 blocks on for deeper aeration.
