The Shop Fox W1668 13-1/4" Oscillating Drill Press was awarded Top Value by WOOD Magazine because of its versatility. The W1668 can be used for efficient contour sanding in addition to traditional drilling, saving you the cost of buying a separate sander. As one grizzly.com customer review mentions, "this Benchtop Oscillating Drill Press is a good compromise for a small shop without room for two separate devices." The W1668 is fitted with a 1 to 16mm JT33 keyed drill chuck, offers up to 3-1/8" of travel, and a drilling capacity of 5/8" through mild steel. With the oscillating feature, the oscillating stroke length is 3/4". The 12-3/8" diameter, round table allows for drilling and surface sanding at different angles as it tilts 90° in both directions. The table has a clearance hole for use while sanding. This clever design incorporates a 2" dust collection port so that sanding is less messy.

Thank you for reaching out. It features an integral spindle and arbor. To remove the chuck from the arbor, you would need to use Jacobs drill chuck removal wedges designed for a JT33. Alternatively, you can lower the spindle all the way down and then tap the back edge of the chuck with a deadblow hammer to break the taper connection. Afterward, you can install a JT33 keyless chuck, such as our SB1375.
We appreciate your inquiry. This machine features a spindle with a JT33 taper at the end. It does not have a separate arbor, as the spindle and taper are integrated.
Thank you for reaching out. The drill press lacks the necessary sturdiness to withstand the force required for making a mortise. There is a high risk of damaging or breaking the pinion shaft or the handle shafts while attempting to do so. Also this machine lacks the clearance to make this usable for mortising.
Hello and thank you for the question. The maximum distance from the spindle to the table is 17-1/4". If you have additional questions, please reach out to techsupport@woodstockint.com.
Hello and thank you for your question. The Shop Fox W1668—13-1/4" Oscillating Benchtop Drill Press manual details procedures for adjusting the quill shaft screw. This screw prevents the quill from rotating during drilling and sanding procedures, and if adjusted incorrectly, the quill may have lash or bind. Additionally, removing and reinstalling the chuck can reduce runout. Tolerances for the this machine are .001-.0012 of an inch.
Hello and thank you for your question. The Shop Fox W1668—13-1/4" Oscillating Benchtop Drill Press has cast iron pulleys. This drill press is capable of drilling Brad Point bits up to 1" in mild steel at recommended speed.

Hello and thank you for your question. No. The W1667—1/2 HP 8-1/2" Bench-Top Oscillating Drill Press has a spindle shaft instead of an arbor which is seated in the spindle. Furthermore, the chuck is attached to the spindle shaft with a set screw particular to the model. The W1667 will not operate at speeds low enough to use an annular cutter for brass, nor have the required horsepower to do so.
