Questions & Answers
What is the compatibility code?
Thank you for your interest in our products. The compatibility code is B.
This is a mailbox, not a post. The Brighton aluminum post is sturdy in the ground when used with concrete and is NOT meant to be used with a 4 x 4 wooden post. Use concrete with the post. Use this mailbox for a 100% aluminum mailbox installation.
Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot The item is listed as a Post Mount Mailbox. Not a mail box post. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future
Will this post be sturdy in the ground without a 4x4?
Thank you for your interest in our products. The Admiral is only a mailbox no post is included. Customer will have to purchase post separately.
is the finish too hard to clean, will dirt cling to it?
Thank you for your interest in our products. Cleaning and restoring powder coated (painted) surfaces: Rinse the surfaces with clean water to remove all debris and grit buildup. Gently clean the surfaces with a mild soap and water. To remove stubborn blemishes or to help restore the original finish or color, use an automotive wax or a light lubricant such as WD40.
Is the mounting hardware included?
Thank you for your interest in our products. No, mounting hardware is not included with Gibraltar Mailboxes. They're included with Gibraltar mailbox posts.
What exactly does ?textured? mean? What is the difference, besides price, versus non-textured?
Thank you for your interest in our products. Textures means it has a rough surface.
Is this mailbox made from aluminum or steel? The first bullet point says "heavy gauge steel construction" and the third bullet point says "60% thicker aluminum construction". So, the description says is made from steel and/or aluminum, is it both?
Thank you for your interest in our products. It is all aluminum except the flag components which are plastic.
How well will this mailbox with stand the snowplow? We people who live in the cold rural regions really need the option for a mailbox that will hold up to a direct hit from the snow plow
No mailbox would stand up to a snow plow crash, just like none of them stand up to a car crash. Move the mailbox further from the street or have a health problem. Then you can install a wall-mount mailbox.
