1.5 in. Metal Durable Construction Putty Knife

I thought I was buying a tough, heavy-duty "husky" stiff scraper for a tough project. 4th whack of a hammer and first pull, and I tumbled backward as the steel end separated revealing it is nothing more than a thin piece of trim over a cheap heart of plastic. so much for this being a "Husky" tool.

This Husky brand Chisel Putty Knife has a lifetime warranty, no questions asked and no receipt needed, just return to Home Depot should your tool fail. Can’t get better than that.! The chisel blade is 1-1/2 inches and is a heavy duty scraper & chisel tool that I’m sure can be used in many ways, the thick blade is tapered and has a perfect size soft -grip handle. I found no reference to this tool being rust resistant, it is stainless steel, made in China. I would probably still clean it up & dry it off after using.

Everyone needs a putty knife for repairing items around the house and on your diy projects. This inch and half is the perfect size for spreading wood dough or small sheet rock repairs. As a plus this putty knife has a second purpose, it can be also used as a chisel to cut door latch insets or hinge insets or anywhere you need to chisel out a layer of wood

When a painter's tool is not quite enough and a chisel is somewhat of an overkill this Husky tool is the answer. In my case the need for this item is for cleaning up the difficult residue left behind when removing a toilet that had been grouted (basically cemented) to a tile floor instead of being properly caulked. The cutting edge has been hollow ground which improves its cutting efficiency and the ability to restore the edge when eventually damaged. The other thing I've learned (the hard way) is that the metal shank should extend the full length of the tool, as this one does, for striking purposes or tool life is quickly shortened.

This putty knife seems to work well. The rubber-style handle is comfortable and provides a decent grip, as long as it holds up to time. By my experience, some rubber composites tend to breakdown with a gummy residue when they get old. I bought this knife to replace a preferred wood-handle knife that I had for 40 years, but unfortunately lost it recently. A 40-year-old knife operated by a 60-year-old brain. :-/
