About This Product
We wanted a portable planer that was lighter to carry around and finished cuts faster, but didn't lack muscle or design quality. The result was the Model G0505. This 12-1/2 in. Planer features a 2 HP motor, 10,000 RPM cutterhead, 32 FPM feed rate, top-mounted return rollers and extra-large table extensions. Additional features like 1/8 in. T knives (instead of the 1/16 in. T knives on most portables) are proof that this dynamo will rule the jobsite for years.

Can you slow the feed rate on the go505 planer

Video on cutter head removal?

Can I adjust the cutter head on my G0505 planer? The right side cuts 50 thousandths thicker than the left side.

For the G0505, if you've confirmed that the knives are installed level on both sides, you can adjust the head's level by disengaging the elevation gear (P0505229 Bevel Gear) on one side and turning the leadscrew—one tooth equals 1/32"—until it's level. If the cutting is lower on the right side of the machine, you can try shimming under the bearing. If this doesn't resolve the issue, please reach out to our Product Support team for further assistance.
Can the feed rollers be adjusted ?

can helical cutters be installed
We appreciate your inquiry. A helical cutterhead is not available for the G0505. You have the option to contact Byrd directly and request a custom-made cutterhead.
Where is the dust collection?
Thank you for your question. It features a rear open chute, and the H7516 Dust Hood can be attached to enable dust collection.
Does the thickness adjustment lock? Does it have a dust collection access?
