is the Modern Forms Hydra 120 in. DC motor brushless
Modern Forms Fans are made with incredibly efficient and completely silent DC motors and are up to 70% more efficient than traditional fans.
My current outdoor patio fan has a 6-7 foot down rod, can I use it with your fan?
Our longest downrod is 72 inches, XF-72-BZ, and we do not recommend using any other Manufacturer's products, as they have not been tested and would void the warranty. To ensure a safe installation, always use Modern Forms downrods with our ceiling fans. For longer installation lengths, you can use a downrod coupler, XF-I-BZ, to safely join two downrods together.
Can I mount this on a angled ceiling or do I need a Sloped Ceiling Kit?
Designed to accommodate buildings with steeper sloped ceilings up to 45° or 12/12 pitch using our Sloped Ceiling Kit.
Will this work without an internet connection ?
Internet Connection is not necessary to operate the fan. The fan can be controlled by a Modern Forms Wall Control or Modern Forms Remote Control.
What is the weight of this fan?
The outlet box and support structure must be able to fully support the moving weight of the fan (at least 35 lbs/15.9 kg).
If my garage ceiling height is 12?6? floor to ceiling, and 750 sq ft in size (3 car garage). And I plan to put this in the center. What size fan do I need and what length down rod do I need for optimal performance?
For a ceiling height of 12', we recommend a downrod of 3' (36 inches). The fan must be mounted with a minimum of 7 ft. (2.1m) clearance from the trailing edge of the fan blades to the floor and a minimum of 1.5 ft (0.5m) from the edge of the fan blades to the surrounding walls.
I do not want to install the wall mounted switch, can this be installed/operated to only use optional remote?
The wall control is optional. The fan includes a handheld remote.
Can this fan be flush mount to the ceiling?
Hi John -- no this Fan cannot be flush to the ceiling. At minimum, you must use the included downrod. Thank you for your interest in the Hydra Smart Fan.
