How far apart are the mounting holes? I need 2 3/4 inches.
Hi, the spacing between the mounting holes is about 2.4 inches which is probably too far off from your 2.75 inch need. However, you can easily drill new holes. There is a very good chance the mounting plates/end caps will hide the old holes. I would pick a different one if I had the chance.. the has a big lip in the center that the curtain hangs on every time you try to open it.. really poor design. If you still want the measurements, I’ll check for you.

I cannot find the manual to make sure I have the correct drill bit.
i used 5/16" drill for sheetrock using anchors.

How do you secure the aluminum caps to the wall mounts?
They snap in place. friction holds them.
