Missing one thing
I’d give this five stars, but really wish it had a clip for a tape measure. Otherwise, I really like it.

    Best bag for price
Typically working out of a packout system I moved to a job that required a lot of walking and going up and down stairs and ladders and I needed something I could easily carry and still hold my essential tools . This bag has a lot of features that the higher priced bags do such as lots of pockets , a solid polyurethane base and durable build . I’m very happy about this bag it’s made me more efficient with its easy organization . Based on the price this bag is very underrated

I have a few tool bags and I needed a nice compact one for carrying a variety of tools in to small jobs so I got this one made by Crescent tools. The materials are heavy duty and high quality, even the Crescent labels are rubberized. I am really impressed by the quality of the zippers, might seem like a small thing but if the zippers fail or are hard to operate then the bag will be next to worthless. The zippers even have a 3-year warranty. This bag is set up so that you can easily organize your tools so that you are not constantly rummaging for the right one.

My 12” tool bag had been overstuffed for some time, so I decided to upgrade to a larger bag. I decided to try an open top bag rather than a zipped top one because I figured it would be easier to get the larger tools in and out with the open top design. § The Crescent Tradesman tool bag is a sturdy tool carrier. It’s about five inches longer and five inches taller than my zippered bag, and that combined with the open top makes for a significant increase in tool storage volume. I transferred all the tools from my 12” zippered top bag to the Tradesman, added a cordless drill, drill bits, and drywall saw, and still have room for other items. A downside of this extra capacity is added carrying weight, but the sturdy metal tube handle with cushioned grip and the equally sturdy nylon shoulder strap make it easier to lug. § The Tradesman looks to be made to last. I like that the nylon fabric sides are riveted to the polypropylene base. I don’t think the bottom is going to fall out of this tool bag. The inside “pockets” not sewn to the center divider are actually what I would call bottomless sleeves. I’ve found that these sleeves are best for lengthy tools like wrenches, snips and chisels. § I’m very pleased with the functionality and expected durability of this tool bag. I recommend it for anyone who needs a carry-all for both hand tools and small power tools.

I am always on the hunt for a new tool bag. I have progressed from the old 5 gallon bucket with a tool liner in it to an open top canvas bag to a backpack to whatever is handy over the years. I think I have finally found perfection in this Crescent 14” Tradesman closed top tool bag. This bag is just about perfect as far as I’m concerned. On the front side there are loops with a pouch below them and a zippered pouch above them. On one end of the bag there is a pouch with elastic on it which is meant to hold a water bottle but would be perfect for storing smaller items or a roll or two of electrical tape. On the other end they have a clip for holding a measuring tape. The back side is perfectly flat and smooth and is not meant to hold anything. On the top of the bag there are two zippers that run the length of the bag. Under one of those zippers there is a 29-pocket tool wall that is perfect for storing just about everything you could possibly think of. Under the other zipper there is a much more wider open area that has more pouches but is better suited for a cordless drill or maybe some smaller powered tools. They purposely made the interior of the bag a bright orange color so that it would be easier to see your tools in darker areas. The 1680D polyester and the metal hardware are super tough and make the bag feel very tough and well constructed. The zippers they used on this bag are phenomenal. They are very wide and glide from one end of the bag to the other with very little effort on your part. All the stitching on this bag is very well done and really adds to the overall heavy duty look of the tool bag. The hard plastic polypropylene bottom on this bag looks like it could take some serious abuse. At first I thought that they should have put a rubberized bottom on this bag so that it wouldn’t shift around on you when you set it down. After using it some I really like the fact that is very smooth and you can easily wipe it clean if it gets dirty so I actually like it more the way they designed it after all. The shoulder strap is very nice and well padded. It is adjustable so that you can fit the height of just about anyone. The clips on each end of it makes the shoulder strap removable in case you don’t need it and don’t want it getting in the way all the time. When removed there are still carrying handles on each side of the bag so it is still easily transportable. If you are an electrician this bag would be perfect for you or any other kind of tradesman. If you are a homeowner or DIY kind of person it’s perfect for you also. This bag has plenty of pockets and the overall fit and finish of this bag screams high end. It is wonderfully constructed and the Crescent engineers put a lot of thought into the making of this bag. I can’t think of one thing I would change on this bag or add to it. I think they thought of everything.

If you’re looking for something that’s an alternative to the traditional tool box, this may work quite well for you. There’s plenty of storage slots and pockets to organize dozens of tools. The assortment of slot sizes is mostly geared toward larger hand tools or even power tools, which for me, I would have preferred more of the narrower slots. The wider slots would also work well for holding small cases or kits consisting of a set of tools. Its wide, solid base keeps the bag upright. The heavy duty zippers with cloth grip extensions are reflective of the excellent quality construction throughout. The bag when empty already weighs a little over five pounds, so as you start to fill it, it starts getting a bit heavy rather quickly. So, I appreciate the padded shoulder strap which makes it easy to carry as do the padded hand grips.

If you thought Crescent only made quality tools, you owe it to yourself to look at this two section, closable YKK zippered bag. The first thing that impressed me was the fact that when you set it down, empty, and open the sections, it doesn't fall over. The orange interior makes it easier to see what's inside. The padded, adjustable removable strap is a plus, plenty long enough to carry crossbody. Or just use the handles. On the outside, you even have one zippered section, five open slots, and one open pouch. This bag is not just a pretty face, it's tough, durable 1680D polyester with some nice stitching. While I love my tool pouches this bag is probably the ultimate for carrying just about everything you could need to do most small jobs. Hand tools, small hammer, battery drill w/ charger, meters, tape measure, 9 and 12- inch levels, flashlight, screws. molly's or whatever you can think you can carry. This would make a great "Bug Out Bag" too. Got you thinking yet? Once you see how much one of these will hold you might just think, " What could I do if I had 2 of these?"

In a word rugged. In several, this bag could probably be thrown in the truck, thrown around the jobsite, kicked over a couple of times, dusted off and just keep on like nothing had happened. It is that tough. The hard base and sides provide excellent rigidity and the heavy duty polyester pockets keep a wide variety of tools and accessories safe – see video. The tubular metal handle is fixed and the cushioned section provides for the comfortable lift of a heavy bag. And it is heavy compared to many similar totes but they won’t last as long particularly in harsh environments. The addition of a shoulder strap offers another way of carrying that fully loaded tote.

For those interested in the country of origin, this bag was manufactured in CHINA. This is a departure from purpose but this bag serves well as a carryall for my computer equipment going from client to client. The bag hold easily a laptop and all the necessary documentation needed to discuss client requirements for applications, as well as enough space for a handy compact tool set to address any physical properties problems that may be encountered. The bag stands up with weight inside, as well as when empty, so it does not become a sack as other purposed carryalls become. This avoids the usual tripping over the bag getting away from meetings and such. Can be tossed into a trunk with the knowledge that it will not be jostled about easily.
