To pop the caps off - its not obvious.... Take a long screwdriver (or drill bit, or something slim, strong and 4-5" long) and go thru the shower rod opening, and push up on the top of the cover/cap and it will pop off.
What is the “fine print” on your lifetime guarantee of no rust? I’ve yet to have a stainless steel shower rod that was rust proof NOT rust & yet to have anyone stand by their guarantee.
