Hello CPG1962, Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. A Ring Protect Pro subscription is required to have professional monitoring and receive real-time alerts in the Ring App when your Alarm is triggered. You can choose to self-monitor and arm/disarm via the Ring app without a monitoring plan. However, to receive text notifications when windows/doors are opened, a Ring Protect subscription is necessary. For the least expensive service to arm/disarm via the app and receive basic notifications, you would choose the standard Ring Protect plan. For professional monitoring with authorities notified, you would select Ring Protect Pro. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future.
Hi CPG1962. Thank you for your question! A Ring Home Standard or Ring Home Premium is required to digitally arm and disarm your alarm. Without these plans you can still get alerts from your windows/door sensors opening and closing. The Ring Alarm Kit also comes with a Ring Alarm Keypad to arm and disarm your system without the need of a Ring Home Plan. For more information on these plans I'm including this link to our plans site: https://ring.com/plans If any additional information is needed regarding your Ring Alarm Kit, please reach out to our community. Ring Community is our first peer-to-peer community forum, giving our customers the ability to help one another and share their feedback and experiences directly with Ring. Hi Pinkjunebug. Good question. You have the ability for your Ring Alarm Base Station and Ring Alarm Keypad to make a sound anytime your contact sensor is triggered, whether in home or away mode. Using the Ring app, you can choose which sound they will make when your sensor is triggered. Hi cocoa. Good question. The Ring Alarm Keypad allows you to easily arm and disarm your alarm system. Install your keypad near entry points—the doors you use most often to come and go. Hi Matt. Thanks for asking. Ring Alarm devices use Z-Wave to speak to the Ring Alarm or Ring Alarm Pro Base Station. If you're having a problem with a device reaching your Alarm or Alarm Pro Base Station, you can always use a Z-Wave range extender plugged in between the device and the Alarm or Alarm Pro Base Station to help it communicate. Hi gbexpress. Good question. The Ring Alarm Base Station has a 104 decibel siren measured at 1 ft. If your siren is triggered in your home or business, the Ring Alarm and Ring Alarm Pro Base Station siren will sound for 10 minutes and then turn off.
