Can this go under turf to serve as a padding? And can water drain though it?

I have a retaining wall near a playset and I’m wondering if i can put this on top of and on the face of the wall to help with impact if that happens.

At 2.5 inches thick, they are engineered to help absorb impact from falls and create a safer play surface. However, we have not tested them for installation on vertical surfaces, such as the face of a retaining wall, and therefore would not generally recommend that type of application. The tiles are intended to be installed on a stable, level subsurface where their interlocking design can function properly and provide the intended safety benefits. Would these be a safe surface for a duck pen; i.e., nontoxic, won’t be ripped up by their nails, gentle on their feet?

To remedy this, ramp parts are available to help prevent tripping as children run onto the playground. Not only do these ramps provide a safer surface, but they also provide a border for the playground tiles, keeping them in place when installed over a flat surface. These ramps are made of the same durable recycled rubber material as the tiles are and feature a slanted slope to create a small ramp and avoid trips. They are 2.5 in. thick on the side that connects to the tiles and slopes down on the other side to create a ramp.
