How much water does the base store?
This fountain holds a total of 1.5 gallons in the bowl above the solar panel and in the reservoir below the solar panel. The base column does not hold any water. -SLHG
How easily can this be tipped over by a cat or raccoon?
The fountain weighs about 26 lbs and when full of water it will weight almost 40 lbs so it's quite stable and not likely to tipped over a small animal. The base also has a hole under it so you can put it over a post as well to ensure it doesn't get tipped over at all. -SLHG
How deep is the bowl?
The bowl is about 2 inches above the solar panel and 3 inches deep below the panel so 5 inches deep in the center if you remove the solar panel. -SLHG
Can this bird bath be left outside ALL year, even in freezing temperatures?
No, unfortunately it cannot be outside in freezing temps and needs to be stored indoors (shed, garage, basement, etc) for the winter. -SLHG
No, it will freeze.
Not recommended with this Bird Bath. Change in temperature makes glazed pedestal vulnerable to easy breaking as in weather like Ohio. Needs more weight in base also.Didnt last in whole with my experience 6 months.
Does the fountain only work under and during the direct sunlight. Or does it charges under direct sunlight and works with that power for couple of hours
Only runs in direct sunlight. Clouds over the sun will slow or stop the pump. No solar storage.
This fountain only works in direct sun. If you want it to work in the evening you can purchase either solar-on-demand solar panel (#SBK2W0D-T) and a battery pack (#BPM4V1000-T) so it can hold a charge to run day or night. Can the water in the fountain be turned and off? Also is there a battery backup?
No. Put it in the sun, it runs. Put it in the shade, it stops. No battery backup.
