Charcoal Balinese Peacock Self Adhesive Wallpaper

Loved it. It even looked better than I expected.

Looks great.

The peacock design on the wallpaper is very attractive and made me to order this product and it's very easy to peel and stick to the surface. We can use it on the walls or granite surface any where it will get sticked easily and easy to remove it as well with no glue residue on the wall. The wallpaper quality and the design is good resulting my second purchase of the brand.

We're new to wallpaper, so I was a little anxious about trying this, but being taken with this gorgeous pattern, I had to try it out. It has the appearance of a woodcut design and is very subtle yet very detailed. It's both exotic and elegant. As it turns out, it's really easy to work with, and you can see by my photos that I picked anything but an easy spot to use it on. I picked up the NuWallpaper Smoother and Utility Knife Kit, (Home Depot SKU #1001479280) which was great for smoothing and cutting straight edges. The backing is only minimally tacky, so there's no chance of it harming the walls beneath, something else that I worried about. As a trial run, we chose to do an accent wall in our living room, and it looks amazing. I love how it creates this vibrant texture and depth to a previously boring corner of the room. So, yes, definitely a fan of NuWallpaper and this pattern particularly. Having taken on a small project, we're now setting our sights on other, bigger projects as well.

Over the last couple of years, I have used several, same brand, different peel and stick wallpaper on walls; both in living areas and in the basement without any issues whatsoever. I know without a doubt that that the key is preparation by making sure that your surface is clean and free from any imperfections that may impede the smooth laying of this wallpaper. For example, any raised pieces imperfections on the surface should be sanded first. Any small holes should not interfere as the peel and stick will cover them. I had an area of 8 X 10 and found that 3 rolls were only just enough to me to complete utilizing the design repeat of 13.9 in.I first used a spirit level and drew a pencil mark down the wall and started at the end and followed my line rather than the edge where it meets the other wall. If it overlaps you can trim it later easily using a utility knife. I cut each piece to length and without peeling the backing off and lined it up with the pencil mark line and move it up to match the ceiling before removing around 18 inches of the backing. It is favorable to have assistance at the bottom just to make sure that is on the line before proceeding, but not essential. After the first 18 “are on the wall, peel another layer off and continue. Advice is to use a flat tool but I found that the flat edge of the palm of my hand stroked down and at 45 degrees is good enough. If at first you find there are bubbles, it is easy to careful pull the paper up and off in order to start again. Warning…do NOT allow the sticky parts to touch each other as attempting to separate them is both time consuming and frustrating. The satin look of this vinyl when completed is a unique finish to any room. Personally I have installed this in on the kitchen cabinets and yes, if a change of mind, the strips are easily removable without leaving a sticky residue. Just peel it off from the bottom and pulling upward. The finished project leaves a stunning effect and is easy to wipe down to clean.

The paper is a nice thickness. The color we got is a beautiful cobalt blue. The finish is kind of like contact paper. Sort of a plastic feel. For me that is good. I should withstand dirt and wash up well. We decided to use it to line pantry shelves. It worked out great and looks wonderful. It is the first step in our utility remodel. I’m sure it would also look great as wallpaper or an accent wall. I am very pleased with it. It was a nice thick roll and should go far. It cuts easily and can be repositioned if you need to realign it. I expect it to last a long time and still look great.

The self-adhesive wallpaper was easy to cover a small end table and a book. The roll was simple to unwind and didn't leave crinkles as I was cutting it/working with it. I covered a book to add some décor to the table. I would recommend the product for quick DIY projects. The product can be peeled up and realigned if needed. The surface is smooth, so I can wipe down any dirt. It would work well in humid environments like bathrooms or laundry rooms.

My wife was so excited when I told her I found this Scalamandre wallpaper at HD. Scalamandre is nothing but first class. We've used their wallpapers several times over the years. This is the first we'll be trying one of their self adhesive products. The wall where we're going to be using it isn't finished yet, so I can't yet comment on the installation. But the paper itself is a nice thickness and should make installation simple (if you done wallpaper before, you know some expensive ones can be thin and prone to tearing). The print on the wallpaper is gorgeous. He width is 20.5 inches and the repeat is 14 inches, so there probably won't be much waste. At this point, I would definitely recommend. If there is anything significant to report after installation, I'll update this review.

Really like this product. When first unwrapped there is a heavy pvc type smell but it quickly dissapates and does not linger once installed. The film is relatively thick and should be very durable for cleaning. It goes on pretty easily but it it is prone to bubbles. You can either push the bubbles to nearest edge or try to pop with a needle. The edges hide relatively well if you take care to align and cut from the same section. One thing I learned was that since you need to cut from the roll wherever the pattern repeats, you may lose 12+ inches of material depending on where it ends up. Measure twice cut once and order extra. Last note: I wish the film on the back had a grid on it to assist in cutting straight lines. I tried using a box cutter first but some large shears ended up working best. There are lots of different print options available so we are going to experiment with some others as well. The material is easy to remove and does not leave much residue!

This Charcoal black and white floral/peacock self adhesive wallpaper is really cool. This peel and stick then just pull up to remove wallpaper makes it so easy to use. It's great if you are renting a home and just want to add a color like a backsplash or small bathroom wall. No mess or fuss, it just peels back off when done. Be aware it lays and looks best on a flat surface. The width of the roll is 20.5 inches and covers a total sq. ft. of 30.75. Great way to add some color with lots of selection.
