The carved areas may require additional prime coats. Once priming is finished, paint the product with a good quality, vinyl safe 100% acrylic latex paint. If painting the product a dark color, colors that have an LVR rating of 54 or lower, use paints with heat reflective characteristics specifically formulated for use on vinyl or PVC products. For functional hardware, there are lots of options but a few popular ones are: NR481BL, NR484BL, and NR254. What is the weight of each panel?
Thanks for reaching out. At 15 in. x 60 in. each panel weighs approximately 25 lbs. Our composite shutters are designed for extra durability and resistance to that natural elements. They're perfect for hot and humid locations, as well as cold and dry areas. They install easily, making adding them to any home hassle-free for any level installer!
Do these shutters come with the hinges or are those separate?
Thanks for reaching out. These shutters are typically installed as a surface mount (instructions linked below) however, they can be installed with operational hardware! The hardware is not included as there are several factors to shutter hinges (style, offset). Three great options are Item # NR481BL, Item # NR484BL, and Item # NR254.
We order these shudders. There was no hardware provided. Why no hardware to mount was provided. Also, if we drill into the boards, there is no cap to cover the nail holes? These are very heavy, thus need to be properly supported.
