Metric Folding Hex Key Set (8-Piece)

This product is a must have for every home and toolbox. This ally key wrench set comes with multiple head sizes twenty-five in total. The base of each wrench key has a head size number embedded into the handle so you can easily identify which wrench size you used for the next time. There are ally keys, star headed keys, etc. The wrenches can be used to tighten bikes, furniture, and just about anything else that requires an ally wrench/key. The material and the outer casing are sturdy. The exterior case doubles as a sturdy handle. However the plastic handles do appear as if they will break if too much pressure is applied. Each wrench set appears to have an oily film embedded as if designed to keep the wrenches from drying out. The wrenches appear to be made of an iron like medal.

This is a very complete hex key set that includes SAE, Metric, and Torx keys. You’ll have the right key for any project. I used the metric key set to tighten the towel rack and toilet paper holder in our bathroom. I also used the torx key set to clean out our home humidifier. I did not know which size key I would need but felt confident that I had what I needed.

[GEARWRENCH SAE, Metric, & Torx® Folding Hex Key Set (25-Piece)] Having lost or at least misplaced my Torx® hex key set I figured another complete set could come in handy someday. (Still hoping I'll find the missing one!) Firstly, there are 3 pieces in the set ... the "(25-Piece)" on the labelling refers to the number of individual hex keys. Fit and finish are quite acceptable - easy to hold and use and no pokey bit gotchas. The bright, slightly orange, yellow handles will make finding them easy enough in a pile of other stuff. The handle length is 4-1/2", width 1-1/2" and about 1-1/4" tall. Not too small so easy for my old hands to grip easily. The keys range from 1-1/2" to 2-1/2" long which is a nice length for most uses. The smaller ones I tested had some twist but not so much I feared breaking them - that is the steel was not so soft to deform and not so hard to have no give. Good qualitied in my book! The sizes I've used so far of each kind (SAE, metric, and Torx®) fit all the set screws I normally fuss with. I expect the other, less often needed sizes will fit too. Pros: Strong, big, easy to operate. Finish is nice and no sharp corners or edges to address. Overall size makes for a good grip. If the keys become loose and flop too much for your taste they're bolted in and can be tightened. (or loosened if you need more flopping about.) Cons: The overall size might make carrying in your pocket a tad uncomfortable. I found the type of set (SAE, metric or Torx) embossed in the handle small and hard to read so I marked the sets with red, blue or yellow permanent markers to be able find the one I need quickly. FWIW: (because I am a woodworker) I wiped the tools down with alcohol to remove a light coat of protective oil.

This is a decent set for the price. The housing is made of plastic. Wished they would have been done out of some sort of metal. The wrenches are quite stiff but should loosen over time, and they are covered in sticky oil. One is SAE, one is metric and the other is Torq, or star shaped. Good value. Would recommend for someone just starting out with their own set of tools.

I had a great experience using the GearWrench folding hex key set. The set seems like it will last with good quality and a well thought out design. I love the fact that the sides are rubberized for a non slip grip especially when working in the cold with work gloves. The labels for sizes etched into the set is also a great addition. Instead of trying three different sizes before finally finding the right one like I used to do. This set makes a great addition to my tool kit and I would recommend it for any DIYer or anyone that wants all their hex keys in one easy to navigate set.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The ruggedness of the tool it self feels durable which I do really like. The sizes seem very true unlike some cheaper similar ones. The color scheme is appealing and fits in my hand comfortably. I do wish it had a 7, and 6 due to working euro cars frequently and find myself needing a 7 for Audi’s and a 6 for Volvo’s.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I work off of a cart and having these metric sized all in a tight "bundle" allows me to be able to apply some torque, and have a good solid grip on the hex keys as opposed to separate hex key wrenches. It's compact size also allows me to put it in a specific spot, so i always know where it's at.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Handy metric hex key kit that comes in clutch when needing multiple sizes all in one easy to use tool. Feels very sturdy in the hand while using. Has all of the common metric key sizes in-one. Would have given 5 stars, but the keys tended to become loose after a few uses while using to remove multiple size hex bolts on my daughter's car for a radiator replacement. Wish the keys would have stayed tighter, but the two larger largest keys became very loose after not many uses. I was able to tighten them by using another separate hex key I have. Not a dealbreaker, but should have lasted a little longer without having to make my own adjustments. Other than that though, a perfect little kit that will come in more than handy.

The ease of movement was well helpful when switching thru different sizes.the grip on them didnt allow to slip out of hand in oily areas and with gloves on. I highly recommend.
