Questions & Answers

Will this unit (80 CFM) work with a 15 amp Breaker? The load shouldnt be bad - since you do not run the fan and heating simultanously thank you

Answer This Question

Thank you for your question on the BHFLED80. This model uses a 12-2 wire and a dedicated 20-amp circuit. For safety, the heater has a higher amp draw at start up and for UL listing has to be on a 20 Amp circuit.

        Answer This Question

Thank you for your question on the BHFLED80. In most cases the heater will make some noise. However, the sound level for the heat feature is not tested, so there is no Sone rating that we could provide.

                  Doesn’t do the job.
Well, now that it’s installed and the ceiling replastered, I’d say buy a more powerful fan. This one neither heats well nor clears fog from the mirror. And the led lights are blinding. I have a tiny bathroom and this should be adequate, but it’s not.

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear the BHFLED80 has not met your expectations.
The performance of both the heater and exhaust fan can be affected by factors such as room size, ceiling height, duct length, and ventilation layout. While the BHFLED80 is designed for smaller bathrooms (75 square feet or less), we understand your disappointment that it has not provided the level of heating and mirror defogging you were expecting. Be sure the door is undercut to allow fresh air into the room to replace the air exhausted.
We also appreciate your comments regarding the LED lighting. Lighting preferences can vary, and we understand that the brightness may feel excessive in a compact space.
Your feedback is valuable and will be shared with our product team as we continually evaluate opportunities to improve our products. If you'd like assistance reviewing your installation or discussing whether another model may be a better fit for your application, please contact our product support team. We'd be happy to help.

This exhaust fan replaced an old and outdated exhaust fan that was previously installed. This has a heater in it as well as an LED light. The one it replaced did not have a light. Great product. I would recommend this to anyone that wants a combination of light and exhaust with an added bonus of heat!

This was replacing a 20yo unit which was also a Broan. Definitely a good upgrade. Took a lot of effort to install because this unit is clearly made for new construction but I manage to get it in. A lot quieter than the old unit and the LED lights are great. Only minor complaint was the screw that holds in the grill was loose in the box and not installed in the unit so I had to remove the fan from the housing to install the screw. Other than that it works great. I wired the light to a dimmer motion sensor switch and the fan and heater to a second double switch unit then labeled them.

The unit came damaged. The light enclosure was crushed and the major enclosure is dented. Customer service was not helpful. Going to have to drive 52 miles to the nearest Home Depot to get an exchange so work can continue in the remodel. Don’t have weeks delay to get it resolved

                      Quiet fan with bright light
While I haven't quite finished the install on this yet, I did connect it to a power source to check the fan/light and the heater functionality. Exhaust fan is super quiet and seems to pull through a good amount of air. LED light seems good and bright. The heating coils produce moderate heat, however they do make a bit of a 'rattling' noise when the heat is on. Adding the cover helps with the noise somewhat. That's the only reason for the four stars. It takes about two minutes for the coils to get to maximum heat. We are in the middle of a bathroom remodel, and this one is going to replace an older version that used "heat lamps" for the heat section (super old, outdated, and inefficient). This new one looks modern and should be a great addition to the remodel. I have installed several of these over the years including this same brand and they are usually very easy. Simply cut the opening in the ceiling, attach the wiring for the fan and heat to your switch sources (simple if you're familiar with basic home wiring- grnd, blk/red, white wires), attach the exhaust port to the vent ducting, and install the unit to studs using drywall screws. Then slip the decorative cover over the fan. You're good to go. So far so good with this one!

                      Love this 3-way light/heater/fan combo!
I received this Broan NuTone 3-way ceiling fan/heater/light unit through the Home Depot Seeds Program. Gotta say that I absolutely love it!! I'm not an electrician although I pretend that I know what I'm doing. I also had to remove the old smaller light only and modify the opening. But first, let's talk about the product. Great features! Love the 3-position light setting, from amber to bright, to daylight. I chose the daylight as I prefer that. Its BRIGHT daylight 4K LED bulbs totally illuminates the shower/drying area in my gym. The fan is really nice, not noisy at all. Whisper-quiet, if you will. The heater is...wow! I have a little portable space heater that I've been using during those cold winter days, but I can take that out. This heater is positioned perfectly outside the shower area so the warmth hits both the drying area AND the shower! Love it!! It's got plenty of power, and even halfway down from the ceiling I'm still feeling the warmth. As far as installation, pretty straightforward IF you know what you're doing. I kinda did...lol. First thing was that I couldn't get up top, so everything had to be done down below. I cut the opening bigger to fit the length, and then I had to add a 1" board on top of the sheetrock and let it overhang about an inch to close off the extra width space from the old light. Add the strip of new sheetrock and no one can tell it wasn't original. No biggie there. The old light had just the one 12-2 wire coming into it. I had to pull another 14-3 wire from the wall switch (purchased a 3-way switch at Home Depot in the Plumbing dept) to the light for the extra functions. Took a minute to figure out the wall wiring configuration (YouTube University is my best friend in instances like that), and then it was simply hooking up the red 14-3 lead to the fan, the black 14-3 to the light, and the black 12-2 to the heater. Why the 12-2 to the heater? Well, originally I had the 14-3 hooked up (I just grabbed wires and wired em in) but when I turned the fan on, the breaker kept tripping. After several times I realized that the draw on the fan was greater than the 14-3 wire could handle. Remember, I'm not an electrician so everything is a learning experience for me. I hooked the 12-2 to the heater and everything worked perfectly! The fan works great, looks great, and I did all of the work myself, which is the most gratifying part. I highly recommend this fan/light/heater combo if you're looking to upgrade, but if you only have a light or a fan/light unit in place now, remember that you'll need to run another leg from the wall switch to the ceiling unit, and it'll have to be 12-2 wire! Hope that helps all the "advanced novice" handymen (and women) out there!

                      Best fan ever
In my opinion Broan-Nu-Tone makes the best bathroom exhaust fans ever. I installed a different Broan model in my master bath several years ago and have been so happy with it, I decided to replace the fan in my main bath with this model. I had an electrician install it. The heating feature is wonderful on cold winter mornings. It exhausts moisture well and the light is nice. It is also is very quiet.
