Does this unit act like a home ventilator (erv/hrv) and release fresh air into the living space?
The Whynter ARC-1030WN is a dual-hose portable air conditioner, but it is not an ERV/HRV or a dedicated fresh-air ventilation system. The dual-hose design draws outdoor air in through one hose to cool the condenser and exhausts warm air through the other hose. This helps maintain balanced air pressure in the room. I have mold growing in the air conditioner unit itself not on the coils. How can I best disassemble the front part so I can get all the mold off the blue plastic parts? I have not even used it for one full season.
Cleaning it: Unplug the unit and move it outside or somewhere well-ventilated. Drain any trapped water from the bottom port. Remove the screws on the outer housing to access the fan. Spray the fan blades (avoid the motor/wiring) with a 50/50 vinegar-water mix, let sit 10 minutes. Scrub with a soft brush, wipe down with a damp cloth. Let it air dry for 2-3 hours, reassemble, then run on Fan-Only mode for 15 minutes. How often does water need to be drained?
Under normal cooling conditions, the unit uses a self-evaporative system, so manual draining is typically not required. In environments with high humidity, however, condensation can build up and the unit may need to be drained occasionally. Just purchases a unit and the drain hose included has no nut to attach to the threaded drain I don’t want to use a water hose and I just need to connect the shorter hose for temporary continuous drainage the dehumidify
For the ARC-1230WN, the continuous drainage hose does not require a nut to attach to the drain port. Please make sure the correct drain hose is being used and securely pushed onto the drain outlet. What size unit would I need for a 200 square-foot room?

What portable ac operates without venting
No portable air conditioner can operate without venting. All portable ACs must exhaust heat outside through a window or other vent. Units that do not require venting are evaporative coolers, which are not true air conditioners. What is the vent hose diameter? I’m making a custom window panel and need the correct diameter for the vent hose in the panel
