Would this be a good choice for a high humidity bathroom ceiling or should I go with another brand? My current ceiling paint is peeling and chipping from the high humidity.
Hi Anne. Thank you for your question. The Ultra Ceiling Paint can be used in a bathroom. For the best moisture resistance, a higher sheen, such as satin or semi-gloss, is recommended. How many ounces are actually in a "gallon" of this paint?
Hi Hugh, thank you for your question. A gallon of our Behr Ultra Ceiling Paint has 3.78 L of paint, the extra space is for tint if you would like to tint it. -Alex
Can I paint this directly over a faded clear varnished pine ceiling without priming first or I still need to prime?
Hi Curious, thank you for your question. Behr Ultra Ceiling Paint can be used over an existing coating with proper preparation. Before application, it's recommended to scuff sand the glossy varnish coating, clean, and let it dry for the best results. No priming is needed. However, if you do not want to sand, then Behr Bonding Primer No. 432 is recommended to help with adhesion. -Alex
What is the temperature rating for this? Can it be used to paint bricks around a fireplace or a wall around an oven?
Hi Martin, thank you for your questions. Unfortunately, we do not recommend using the Ceiling Paint on walls or facia. Instead, you can check out our Behr Ultra Paint (flat, eggshell, satin, or semigloss) as long as the surface does not get too hot to touch; areas not to exceed 140°F. Under no circumstances should they be applied to the inside of the firebox, hearth, or in any areas that exceed 140°F or come into direct contact with excessive heat, fire, or flames, as these products are not intended or recommended for that use.
