Why aren’t Power strips made with enough space between the plugs that I can plug all my adapters into one power strip? As it is, I can use only every other plug so I have to buy three power strips to plug in six devices!

        Answer This Question

Hello, the good news is that surge protectors and splitters come in a large variety of shapes and sizes. If this model is not sufficient for your needs, there are other configurations, some with plugs oriented 90 degrees compared to this one, others with more bulk and space between outlets, even some more complex ones with energy saving switches built in. The world of surge protectors is your oyster.

why can't this be used for aquarium equipment?

            Answer This Question

To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not use with or near an aquarium. Condensation from the aquarium can cause the unit to short out. Thank you for your question!

You didn't answer the question about the plug being straight or 45. It referred to the plug where you plug it in not the outlets where you plug things into it.

Long cord, many outlets makes this very practical power strip
I have been using this power strip when renovating a kitchen and when that is finished I will move it to carry power from wall outlet behind a living room couch over to beneath an end table in the living room. Both of these uses are possible because the cord is long and flexible. The outlets are nice both because of their number but also because one of them is spaced out so that a large brick fits without covering other outlets. In one of the photos i show a large brick plugged into an outlet that is not space out and it is easy to see that if I had plugged it into the spaced apart outlet that there would be no problem. The usb ports are nice and will allow me to power and charge my phone and a portable speaker when they are on the end table by the couch.

More Outlets Are Always A Good Thing.
This Power Strip Has 7 outlets for grounded electrical plug in connections and two USB ports. One of those two is a USBC connection so that you dont need to use an adapter to use a newer USBC cord. The eight foot long cord makes it very easy to locate the power strip where you need to have additional power. It has an on off switch so you can power everything plugged into it with the throw of a single switch. The angled flat plug on the cord does not stick out very far from the wall and goes nearly straight down from the main outlet it is plugged into.

                  great features
This is the first multiple outlet cord that actually feels like it was made for heavy duty use. The cord itself is securely attached at the strip and at the plug. The plug mounts into the wall outlet at 90 degrees which allows for closer desk arrangement. It has LEDs to let you know that the unit is properly grounded, and in surge protection mode. The USB charging port means I won't have to use one from my computer for other devices.

Great features on this outlet surge protector
I have so many outlet strips that I use all over my home and the most frustrating thing I run into is the lack of spacing. Those transformers take up 2 outlets so this allows for that with one space farthest away from the rest. It also has one USB and one USB-C port with a 6’ cord. Total measurement is about 14” and it is pretty slim in shape. I like the level of comfort in knowing that I have the surge protection when needed. Also has a flat plug which comes in handy for tight spaces. The back allows it to be hung on a wall as well. Has many features that are very important in an outlet strip.

                  Well designed, good length cord.
Care has been taken with the design of this surge protector. The cable is a decent length which makes it that much more useful. The plug that goes into a power receptacle has been designed so that it is flat and does not cover the second receptacle. An indicator light indicates if the power supply is properly grounded, and a second indicator shows that the protection is in place. Once a power spike damages the protector the indicator light will now longer show that protection is being provided. There is a reset switch on the side. There are two mounting hole on the back to allow it to we wall mounted. One of the sockets is spaced apart from the others so that a wall wart can be plugged in without obstructing the other six sockets. It looks like there would have been room for the same thing to be done at the other end, making it possible to use two such transformers. In addition to the 7 outlets, there are two USB ports, the classic USB-A and a USB-C which is starting to become a standard power source format across the globe. The two USB ports can provide a combined output up to 18 Watts. The device can protect up to 2100 Joules of energy. The box advertises that they will replace up to $200K of equipment that is damaged by a surge or spike when connected to the protector, but I see no information on how to make a claim. The instructions have a warning: Do not install this device if there is not at least 30 feet (10 meters) or more of wire between the electrical outlet and the service panel. This is because the surge protector relies on some impedance in the house wiring to function. The limitation is rather severe though. A house with 3 levels and a 32’x32’ footprint will have many of the power receptacles within 30’ of the distribution panel. Furthermore, determining the cable run route in order to determine the distance is not easy for consumers. This is a common problem for surge protectors, and the longer the run of wire the better the protection you will have. That is no solace if the equipment we need to connect is just a few feet above the distribution panel. Well better than nothing perhaps. I suspect that if one was to have a loss of equipment they would first determine if it was plugged in within 30’ of the distribution panel and deny any claim if not. So far, it seems to be working but I have no idea if we have had any spikes or surges. Made in China

Works perfect, just what I needed.
My wife tool the last one from her grow lights and getting her tomatoes started which gave me the perfect excuse to upgrade to the one that comes with a USB port, this one has two to boot. So many of the flash lights, headlights, borescope cameras and other low voltage tools come with USB chargers these days the unfortunate thing is they keep getting moved around. Now that this has a built in one no more hunting for the chargers, now if I can solve the cable problem. :-) Also another nice feature on this one is the separation of one outlet for the bulky plugs, see picture, so that an outlet is not covered when using wide adapters. Installation was easy and drywall screws worked perfectly.

                  Good value for my needs
This seems to be a well-made surge protector and has plenty of places for me to plug in my floor fans and my chargers for my battery powered tools. The plug-in end is one of the wall-hugger type, which I don't need, but it is good in a lot of places. The only thing I don't really love on it is that the on/off switch is on the side instead of the top. Being lazy, I tend to switch them off with my foot, which is harder with this one. But that is not really much of a problem. Of course, the only way to tell if a surge protector is a good one is to have a power surge or lightning strike... which I haven't had since I got this one (but the reason I needed a new one is that the last close lightning we had fried my old one). Time will tell if it really is a great product.

                  Excellent power strip
I have lots of electronics so that means I also have lots of power strips. This is also one of the best I’ve used so far. Any power strip I buy now must have a USB connection, and this one takes that up by including both a USB and USB-C! It’s the first strip I’ve seen with one, and that’s a huge bonus to have. Another must-have feature is a flat angle outlet plug for a minimal install on your outlet. Everything else is pretty standard for a surge protector, and the one spaced plug is great. Definitely recommend!

Well designed multi outlet surge protector
I plan to use this surge protector for my computer, printer, modem, speakers, etc. that all connect at my desk. This surge protector is well thought out - the outlets are spaced wide apart allowing you to connect equipment that use a transformer. It has a flat plug that saves space and is out of the way. It also has an USB -A port and USB-C port. It has 7 outlets and an 8 foot cord. It is black in color so it will blend in on the floor behind my desk. It also has indicator lights that light up to show "protected" and "grounded" status. It is also rated for 2,100 joules surge protection.
