          Answer This Question

Hi Ragnar, thank you for your question. Our Edger Refill Pads have been designed specifically to fit our Behr tools, so that would be experimental, as they have not been tested with other manufacturers. Have a great day! -Lina

No they don't. I just tried it. They don't come high enough to meet the stop at the top. They could have been made to fit, it's close, but not close enough. It's 10.00 for Behr edger to fit pads, or 10.00 for 2 shurlin replacements on Amazon.....

Makes cutting in edges for baseboards, ceiling, and trim a lot easier. Would recommend for beginners but if you are steady with an angled brush cutting in with that would still be faster and not have to clean another tool.

I have used the Behr Edger on several occasions. I really like it and have gotten great results but you have to use it carefully and understand its limitations. First off you cannot overload the pad with paint. You have to carefully load the paint on the pad ensuring you do not get any paint on plastic portions of the tool itself, especially the guide rollers. When I load paint on the pad I roll some paint onto the flat part of the paint tray first. Then I dip the edging pad into the paint carefully so that no paint is anywhere but the pad. Then I carefully place the edging tool on the wall and slowly move it towards the edge I am going to paint. Once the edging tool is in position I move it back and forth to paint the area I need painted. I have found that the pad puts down plenty of paint and rarely have I had to go back with a second coat. Secondly, the edging tool works great when it is up against a wall or ceiling or against door jamb. It does not work as well when the molding it is up against is too narrow. The key is to have the two guide wheels in full contact with the surface you are painting. If the molding is not wide enough then the guide wheels do not keep the edging tool off of the surface and sometimes paint can get under and onto the wall or ceiling you do not want to paint. I have still been able to get good results but you have to be much more careful in applying the paint. This is where the limitations of the tool show up. Sometimes it is better to just use masking tape and not use the edging tool. Lastly, if you get paint onto the edging tool itself or overload the pad you have stop and clean the paint off before you try to use it. If you don't then you will get paint onto areas you do not want painted. When used carefully and correctly this edging tool and the replacement pads work great. There are times when it is better to use masking tape or just cut-in the paint freehand. In the image I have uploaded you can see the result when used against molding that is not as wide as the guide rollers. When the molding or trim that is too narrow you don't get a crisp line. These results are not horrible but they are not as good as when you use the edging tool against a wall, ceiling or wide trim.

My first time painting and using this was a breeze. Remember to keep paint off the wheels and do not over saturate the sponge and you're all good!!!

              Refill units fit perfectly
These pads are refills for the Premium Edger made by BEHR. The have plastic clips built into the sides so they fit perfectly and hold in place as you would expect. Package has 2 pads inside and no damage to either as the packaging is just a plastic bag. These pads seem to last a bit, only used one for an entire room - small 150sq ft. space with an annoying set of ceiling edges. I used these with latex paint - worked very well. Have a roller plate on the floor and use that to "pad" on paint for the edges. Rinsed fairly clean as the backer is a plastic material. Will see it if is usable for the next half of that job. Again, these are refills for the main unit - I do expect I'll be purchasing more in the future.

Replacement pads for Behr Edger- 2 per package
I moved into a new build and all of the walls have that watered down flat white paint, they may as well have not been painted at all. Needless to say I have lots of painting to do! I ordered the Behr edger along with these replacement pads and what a handy painting tool- the edger and replacement pads have cut my painting time down by at least a third. These edger pads measure 3.5“ x 5” and fit perfectly in the Behr edger. The trick to using the edger pads is to not oversaturate the pad, only apply enough paint to cover the white bristles. The pads are replaced by lifting the rounded plastic edges from the plastic edger, remove the old one and then slide the replacement pad over the flat plastic part of the edger. These pads can be washed with soap and warm water and reused but I would recommend only using them twice or maybe 3 times at most because they do not work as well after a few uses.

              Good back-up
The Behr edger comes with a pad but I find it is always good to have backup, especially if I am painting multiple colors in one room or project. These refill pads are very easy to install, click them in and you are done. And they clean with just soap and water. To use properly, dont over-load with paint ... this can lead to a big mess when painting.

              Works great
These are refills for the edge painter applicator sold by Behr. They fit perfectly. They can be cleaned and used multiple times. Using the applicator is easy. Just make sure you don’t get any paint in the applicator wheels. You’ll only make that mistake once. Overall the applicator and refills are great for paining along walls and ceiling. Better than taping.

              Five stars
OK, there’s honestly not much I can really say about these pads. But here we go, are they good quality,,, yes they are. They actually last very long time. I use one of them to do the edges on six rooms before I noticed that they were starting to flatten out. But I tried cleaning one and it practically went back to being brand new so that’s a plus. The price is good and they come in a two pack.

Almost a good as the Shur Line pads
These look and fit exactly like the replacement pads for the Shur Line edgers. They seem to be of a similar quality - nice and soft, with same length “brush” fibers and work as well. The only negative I noticed (and maybe this is also the case with Shur Line) there were a few loose fibers on the pad and also a piece of the pad that had not been it cleanly. The piece that was not cleanly cut would end up dragging paint along the side of the pad - in this case not a big deal because it was not on the edging side, but something to look out for and trim off.
