Can this wood be laid on cement.is it mold resistant.
          ByDec 1, 2023
          1 Answer |
          Answer This Question

This dimensional lumber is suitable for above-ground use. While it can be placed on cement, direct contact with concrete can expose the wood to moisture, which can lead to mold and rot. It's important to use a moisture barrier between the wood and the cement to prevent this. The wood itself is not inherently mold-resistant. For applications where moisture is a concern, consider using pressure-treated lumber, which is specifically designed to resist rot and decay.

Is this good use for decking board?
          ByNov 16, 2023
          1 Answer |
          Answer This Question

This lumber is commonly used for framing and structural applications, not decking. While it can technically be used for decking, it's not ideal. For decking, you'll want to choose lumber specifically treated for outdoor use and designed to withstand moisture and weather. Look for decking boards or treated lumber.

This wood came in very good condition and didn’t have any problems with the cuts or putting it where it needed to go, it was very very strong and I would definitely use it again in all my projects, my clients were happy and it made me very happy, can’t wait to use it on my next projects.

We needed 5 - 20’ boards for rafter ties. Half the wood was in unusable condition. Thankfully the inspector let us build a faux beam from 2 of the boards to pass inspection. If we would have been on-site, we would have refused delivery, but we weren’t and item is listed “non returnable”.

Two of the boards shipped were split (unusable split) some were warped more than they should be. Your pickers need to send usable materials We are professionals- I can’t use that on someone’s house
