Thank you for your interest in our products. For wall mounts, use #8 or #10 pan head Phillips screws of adequate length to anchor the mailbox. For wood panel walls, screw length into the wall should be approximately 1''. For masonry, stucco, or metal wall, use a minimum #8 plastic anchor with screw.

Thanks, to Windsor, for sort of answering my question: "The Windsor mailbox does not fit flush to the wall. It is designed for recessed mounting." But what is Recessed Mounting? My mother's gardener ended up attaching the mailbox to two pieces of wood that he had to attach to the wall (wood railing), but it still doesn't quite work. What a mess. You can see from the top-down view that he had to cut into the plastic top to get this to work, but now it will leak. Wish there had been instructions with this product saying it needed RECESSED MOUNTING, whatever that is.

I attached mine to the wall, and it opens with the lid straight up. Of course it can't fold back. By the way, it doesn't come with screws. You have to provide your own. I like this mailbox.

they are meant to be screwed into the wall (they do not come with screws either). i suppose you could glue a piece of wood to the back and glue that to your siding.

My preference would not be to put adhesive be numbers of this box. My guess is that with sun and rain, the numbers will peel within a year. Also, I need prefer brass numbers on a wooden plaque for durability.

Yes, there are several screw holes in the box to allow for a nut and bolt.

There are two holes in the back for mounting. I Mounted mine to a brick wall. Wood should be a cinch.
